As the Undertaker announces his retirement, we look back at his Wrestlemania record...
This article is from Den Of Geek Us.
WrestleMania XXX was an eventful show. It calmed the fears of those afraid that it would crash the WWE Network and cause major damage to the company's latest venture. Cesaro broke away from his tag team and broke out by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy. Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and the Rock hung out in the ring and had a blast. Mr. T and Roddy Piper buried the hatchet. Daniel Bryan went through an endless supply of punishment before being defeating Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista.
That was a big moment and a major story, but the thing people will be talking about for a long time is the end of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. For the first time ever, Undertaker lost at...

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs The Rock- Wrestlemania 17
“Shaking hands with Satan himself.”
Wrestlemania 17, hands down, is the best Wrestlemania booked to date. Apart from a horribly short Women’s Championship match with Chyna facing off against Ivory, from the opening match to the main event, every match was great.
The main event of the show was "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs The Rock. The previous year, Austin had been recovering from long needed neck surgery sustained at the hands of Owen Hart at Summerslam 1997. During his time away, superstars like The Rock and Triple H stepped up their game and became main event players in their own right. When you are out of action for close to a year, there is a very real fear that by the time you get back in the ring you would have lost a step or two. Or worse, that the fans would...

It’s that time of year again. Wrestlemania is soon upon us. This event has become the most important event in professional wrestling, showcasing the best of the best of the sport putting on the show of their lives. With Wrestlemania appearing this Sunday on the WWE Network, I thought I’d take the time to discuss my ten favorite Wrestlemania matches, matches that to me epitomize everything that is great about the event. Like any list, it is purely subjective so if you disagree with anything or feel I left something out, let’s discuss it in the comments below.
Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant- Wrestlemania 3
“The irresistible force meeting the immovable object!”
Without Wrestlemania 3, it’s possible that Wrestlemania could have gone the way of Starrcade. The first two Wrestlemania’s, while star studded and showing some glimpses of what the event eventually became, were more events of their time.

Portland, Oregon is a city rich in history when it comes to professional wrestling. Starting with the territory owned by Don Owens, it saw the rise of performers like Billy Jack Haynes, Jimmy Snuka, and the legendary “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Today, the big dog in town of course is the WWE. Tonight at the Moda Center, the WWE held Monday Night Raw and I had the pleasure of attending the show live.
WWE Camera Crew at work
This was not the first Monday Night Raw I’ve ever attended. That distinction belongs to the episode that played on August 27th, 2001 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Time flies when you’re having fun and to think that close to sixteen years have passed since I last attended an episode of Raw blows my mind. (I did attend the WWE Pay per View The Bash in 2009 at Arco Arena in Sacramento,...

On September 18th, 1989, I attend my first WWE Live Event. It was a House Show at the old Stadium Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Main Event of the show saw The Ultimate Warrior face off against Andre the Giant for the Intercontinental Championship. Other legends that were a part of the show were Shawn Michaels and Marty Janetty, Rick The Model Martel, Barry Windham, The Honky Tonk Man, and Superfly Jimmy Snuka.
I bring this up because word came out today that Jimmy Snuka has passed away at the age of 73 due to stomach cancer. His work in the ring speaks for itself. He was a legend that helped inspire the likes of Mick Foley to lace up the boots and become competitors themselves. He was also the first notch on The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania when The Undertaker defeated him at Wrestlemania 7. He also had a...

1.This Saturday, Cm Punk makes his Ufc debut as he faces off against Mickey Gall at Ufc 203 on pay per view. While I honestly will be shocked if he makes it out of the first round, I applaud him for following his dreams and wish him the best on his Mma debut. Entering the sport of Mma at his age (and I hate saying that because I am older than him.) is a pretty difficult task, not even taking into account the various injuries he’s sustained over the years as a wrestler. Whether this is his only Mma match or if he’s able to make a go at it, he’s a living example of not caring about any obstacle that prevents you from achieving your dream.

Social media is dark and full of terrors spoilers. To avoid spoiling the fun for fans on the west coast and those who have to wait to beg, borrow, or steal an HBO Go password, this season I’m confining my stream-of-consciousness thoughts to this liveblog. Follow along or flee in fear. Here there be spoilers! Catch up on Episode Eight, 'No One,' over here. ************************** [8:58Pm Edt] - I'm very excited about tonight's episode of "Game of Thrones" but dude does "Westworld" look amazing or what? It's a malfunctioning holodeck cranked up to 11. [9:00Pm Edt] - Tonight Davos must find out what happens to Shireen. Tonight the fragile peace between the onion knight and Melisandre shatters. Tonight we find out if Brienne lied about killing Stannis??? [9:04Pm Edt] - Um, excuse me? We were promised a battle of bastards, not more Meereen politicking. Though if it frees the other two dragons, fine. Kind of hoping...

For the past two decades, WWE’s February pay-per-view has served the same function that “The Main Event”, the Friday night NBC specials from 1988-91, served: to reinforce the big WrestleMania stories on a grander stage. While it’s not exactly easy to match the historic value of an evil Hebner twin ending Hulk Hogan’s four-year WWF Championship reign, or the Mega Powers disbanding during a heated backstage quarrel, the February pay-per-views have offered their own share of memorable moments.
Sometimes, the events in question feature a startling twist that throws the WrestleMania card into unexpected disarray. Other years, they’re as predictably benign as can be, flying on autopilot into the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’. In either case, they’ve been a haven for a number of classic matches that are rewatchable unto themselves, connection to WrestleMania aside.

Back in 1993, director Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel were given the tough task of converting a non-narrative Nintendo video game into a motion picture. That movie of course is Super Mario Bros. and it’s the first live-action video game movie ever made. It is also not very good and this week the NXpress team set aside some time to discuss this strange beast. During our main event, we review Typoman, a two-dimensional puzzle platformer distinguished by a unique game world. You slip into the role of the Hero struggling to make your way through a dark, surreal world. Despite your small stature you have a powerful gift: You can use letters to alter your environment! And finally, Tim gives us his long awaited review of Animal Crossing amiibo Festival for the WiiU. All this and more!
*Also, as promised, our Mario Maker levels! Let us know what you think!

The story of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels is a fascinating tale that, because of the gritty nature and its presentation for all the world to see, will be relived, remembered and retold for as long as professional wrestling exists.
The following is a detailed account of the genesis of the problems that arose between the men, the escalation that allowed the feud to continue, and the eventual culmination of a bitter dispute between two of the biggest stars in sports-entertainment history.

This week, Patrick, Rick, Aaron and Tim sit back and reminisce on some of their fondest memories playing video games as kids. Among the many topics discussed is the Panasonic 3Do, a home video game console platform developed by The 3Do Company — the Magnavox Odyssey is the first commercial home video game console — Legendary Wings, a long-lost Nes title — and Pokemon Red & Blue. In our main event, we sit down and discuss the latest Nintendo Direct and the Final Fantasy/Super Smash Bros. news that shocked everyone. We take some time to also discuss The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and the introduction to Linkelle. In our last segment, we invite PopOptiq’s Games Editor Mike Worby to announce the Super Mario Maker Challenge winners. All this and more!

This week in our main event, we list off the 12 characters we most want to see added to the Super Smash Bros. roster. But first we start by looking back at four years playing the 3Ds. And ending the show is our post game content reviewing the cute monochrome puzzler Box Boy from Hal Laboratory and Code Name S.T.E.A.M. developed by Intelligent Systems. Earlier this year, wrestling fans were shocked beyond belief on multiple occasions, as the events surrounding the Daniel Bryan situation at the Royal Rumble leading to WrestleMania unfolded and, of course, when The Deadman went on his presumed Last Ride. Unpredictable moments have been a staple of entertainment for as long as drama has existed. Climactic plot twists were themes in literature that found their way to the stage and, ultimately, were adopted by professional wrestling when it stopped being a legitimate sport and morphed into what we know it to be today.
So, what are the most shocking results in modern wrestling lore?

There are so many great docs on the various institutions, characters, fans and businessmen that make up professional wrestling. Stories about Hulk Hogan, the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, Bret Hart, and even the feature film "The Wrestler" have not only stocked festivals like Tiff and Hot Docs, they have also been very successful in theatres and on television. "The Sheik" is yet another tale from this so-called sport, but this time it features one of the most disliked heels to ever enter the ring. Lucky for us, the story of Khosrow Vaziri and his roller-coaster of a life is just as compelling as fake wrestling.
The Iron Sheik is one of the most memorable and iconic characters to ever come out of Vince McMahon's WWF/E machine. In a time when caricature (or maybe even racism) was something a little more up-front in the culture, the Sheik and his...

Bragging Rights is a fairly new PPV concept which first materialised in 2009 and was sold on the premise that it would feature superstars from both Raw and Smackdown brands competing against one another for a trophy that would give their show the ‘bragging rights’ for an entire year. A fine idea were it not for the fact that Raw and Smackdown superstars appear on each others shows almost every week thus heavily diluting the spectacle of seeing these wrestlers interact and combat.
In 2010 the event was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota and whilst entertaining on the whole the repetitive nature of some of the feuds and matches served as another reminder that the WWE is currently plagued with far too many pay per views with only a select few (most noticeably wrestlemania) given enough time to centre meaningful feuds and matches around.
