Like father (and mother!), like son.
Fergie and Josh Duhamel‘s 3-year-old son Axl Jack hammed it up for the camera at the new Avatar-inspired Cirque du Soleil show in Los Angeles on Friday night. Joined by his dad, Axl posed with one of the characters, growling and putting his claws up for the photo.
Duhamel, 43, also got some shots with performers in Toruk: The First Flight. Both father and son attended the event in black pants and casual sneakers.
And while the performers were in costumes on Friday, the Duhamel family had fun in costumes of their own late last month.

Could he be any cuter? Fergie and Josh Duhamel's 3-year-old son Axl stole the show at the opening of the new Avatar-inspired Cirque du Soleil show Toruk - The First Flight in Los Angeles Friday. Dressed in a blue patterned jacket, a gray T-shirt, black pants and blue and white sneakers, the pair's little boy struck a fierce pose on the blue carpet along with one of the performers, who wore a blue Na'vi costume and makeup. Josh, who wore all black, also posed on the blue carpet, with two performers. It was a father-son night out for Axl and his dad, as Fergie did not accompany them. The pop star posted on her Instagram page that day a video of her...

Jose here. While worldwide audiences wait for the impending Avatar sequels, the folks at Cirque du Soleil are aiming to quench their thirst with a new spectacle called Toruk - The First Flight, which bills itself as being “inspired by” the James Cameron film, but feels more like just another chapter in what’s become a “universe”. Imagined for those who maybe don’t like video games, are too passive for amusement parks, and have deep admiration for the human body, the show is a two hour long arena extravaganza in which Pandora comes to life in “real life 3D”.
Avatar borrowed elements from films like Pocahontas, Dances with Wolves, Fern Gully, and to an extent some of Cameron’s own oeuvre (Aliens star Sigourney Weaver was two seats away from me and was always the first to applaud, during a particularly complex sequence she...

Avatar 2 is due in 2018 - but James Cameron doesn't sound like he's guaranteeing that right now...
James Cameron is expected to finally start shooting his Avatar sequels in the next 12 months. Currently, he’s up to four, with Avatar 2 due in December 2018, through to Avatar 5, which is currently scheduled for December 2023.
The release dates have changed a few times, as Cameron adds more films to the eventual boxset. And they may change again. Speaking to Variety about the target to get Avatar 2 out in 2018, he said that “we haven’t moved that target yet, but we will if we need to”.
“The important thing for me is not when the first one comes out but the cadence of the release pattern. I want them to be released as close together as possible. If it’s an annual appointment to show up at Christmas,...

This week's episode of the "very special" 28th season of The Amazing Race -- in which every team is chock full of YouTube and social media stars -- picks up right where last week's left off: on the Pit Stop mat.
For those following along at home, last week turned out to be a non-elimination leg with Team JuicyDad07 saved from being the first team out in exchange for having to face a Speed Bump in the next week. And for the uninitiated, a Speed Bump is a task that only the team it was given to has to complete. It's almost exclusively given to a team in a non-elimination leg to give them a slight disadvantage in the next leg.

It's been six long years since the first "Avatar" hit the big screen, giving extra credibility to the 3D gimmick when before there was none. The opening weekend for the film was modest -- $77 million domestically. It initially seemed like a disappointing take, but when the second weekend nearly matched the first in box office sales, we knew we were in for something special. The film went on to make over $2.7 billion worldwide, making it the highest grossing film of all time (by a huge margin of over $600 million).
In the time since "Avatar," a lot has happened, and despite the huge impact the film had on Hollywood at the time, the film seems to have quickly disappeared from the pop culture zeitgeist. But don't let this calm fool you. Right now, there is a Cirque du Soleil show called "Toruk - The First Flight," which takes its inspiration from "Avatar.

Arrow was the first serious approach to superheroics based on the DC Universe in quite some time. There was little risk picking a second tier character that some but not many may have known about. Producer Greg Berlanti assembled a team consisting of Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg to sift through nearly 70 years of Green Arrow material and figure out how to turn it into a weekly series for the CW.
Once they figured out it was a story of redemption, of Oliver Queen’s journey from spoiled rich kid to a man avenging his father’s death and maturing into the man he was intended to be, they hit pay dirt. The series was rich with nods to the Dcu and the adaptations from the source material served to make the show strong and fascinating.

Here are more nerdy spots in the final two Trek films to date: Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness...
Spoilers for Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness lie ahead.
Like their forerunners, the two latest Star Trek films, in their semi-rebooted, alternative universe, are replete with famous faces from outside the franchise, surprising cameos and multiple little touches that raise a smile.
With the third film in the rebooted series coming next year, the 50th anniversary of the debut of Star Trek on TV in 1966, let's take a look at a few of the geeky nods in Jj's Trek films.
1. Star Trek Nemesis left a lot of dangling threads, on purpose, as a story treatment for a direct sequel was already being worked on. Unfortunately due to some less than stellar decisions by executives, the release date of the film was repositioned and the decision...

Have you been waiting patiently for more Avatar movies since the first one came out in 2009? Well, you will have your fill in the coming years as James Cameron looks to possibly add more adventures to the predicted slate of films.
Hey U Guys caught up with the composer of the films, James Horner, who revealed that Cameron may have plans for another film on top of the four that he initially announced. As of now, the sequel to Avatar is set to open in theaters in 2017.
“He’s got four sequels script-wise, and he’s trying to make it into three,” Horner said. “And I think that’s where the effort is going right now […] how do you keep it from expanding into a fifth movie?”
It is funny to think that more of these movies are on the way and have taken so long to get off the ground.

Oakes & Smith are longtime folk singers who come from musical families. It’s evident in their tracks that their musical knowledge and upbringing helped forge their distinctly folk-inspired tracks. “Factory Girl” is a track that perfectly encapsulates this folks-y vibe. Almost mournful lyrics are coupled with strong lyrics that evoke well-traveled folk territory that, in the end, isn’t terribly spectacular.
“Before Dawn” opens like a Doves track, very spiritual and driving, then transitions to a pretty typical folk track, not unlike something by Simon and Garfunkel. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t dig it, as this is probably the only track I’d come back and listen to repeatedly. I’d throw it on a playlist on a playlist on Spotify, even. Get it in the rotation. In the end, it’s definitely my favorite track off their album, First Flight.

I’m probably one of the last guys you’ll ever see actually reading any comic under the Marvel umbrella. To be completely honest it’s just personal preference. I was introduced to DC Characters first with Batman: the Animated Series and Lois and Clark on the television; while being introduced to Richard Donner’s take on Superman and Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher’s helm at the world of Gotham City later on. I cherished those films and television shows.
Even when I got into comics my first graphic novel to complete was the much celebrated Watchmen. That’s not to say I hated Marvel. On the contrary, I grew up spending my Saturday mornings watching the animated series of Spider-Man, X- Men, and the Incredible Hulk. Even my mom can tell you I did an impression of the Incredible Hulk as a child. When X-Men first came out...

American comic book publisher Bluewater Productions is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Legend of Isis with a new miniseries.
The mythological superheroine was originally launched in 2002 by Image Comics in a one-shot issue that broke into the Top 50 chart and led to the series Legend of Isis.
The title then went to Alias Enterprises, before the character's creator Darren G. Davis set up Bluewater and took it with him.
A decade later, Davis is celebrating with a new three-issue miniseries called Legend of Isis: The First Flight of Horus, now available in print at Comic Flea Market as well as digitally at outlets such as Comixology.
In 2013, Arcana will be launching a series of trade paperbacks of the previous series. Previous issues of Legend of Isis are now on sale at DriveThru comics till the end of the month.

I guess it's fair to say this first. I am not a big Green Lantern fan. I've read a bunch of comics with him, and a few from his own series. So I don't know too much about the deeper aspects of the franchise. I have read Secret Origin, and watched First Flight. (Though I've yet to see the live-action film.) I've rented a few of the big arcs from my library. (Sinestro Corps War, Blackest Night, etc.) So I know the gist of things. Now we could move on. I remember a few months ago when the promo for this show was released. I don't know about you guys, but I thought it looked pretty bad. Not the characters or how the story looked, it was the animation. Man, the animation looked like something from the Nintendo 64. (No offense to the legendary system.) However, since Bruce Timm, the guy...

Green Lantern (Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)
Directed by: Martin Campbell
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins
Running Time: 1 hr 45 mins
Rating: PG-13
Due Out: Buy It 10/14 on Blu-ray Combo Pack with UltraViolet Digital Copy
Plot: An alien gives a test pilot (Reynolds) a green ring that gives him otherworldly powers. Suddenly he’s a member of an intergalactic core who attempts to keep peace. Now a new power, based in fear, is threatening Earth and the entire universe.
Who’S It For? Superhero fans. If your lady is charmed by Ryan Reynolds, and it’s hard not to be, then you could convince her to come along for the ride. It’s definitely light like Thor, not heavy like Christopher Nolan’s Batman.
Movie:
Batman has a belt. Spider-man can shoot webs from his wrist. Superman is almost indestructible. So why can’t...

"Green Lantern" arrived on the big screen last weekend, but we still have some time before "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" brings its emerald glow to television. Don't worry, though, there's a new trailer for the series to help the time go by faster.
Debuting over at the show's official website, the new "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" trailer urges fans to "Go Green!" when the series debuts on Cartoon Network this year. It also offers an quick peek at familiar Green Lanterns like Kilowog and Salaak, as well as the Guardians of the Universe.
Oh, and you can download some great new wallpaper from the series over at the website, too.
If you haven't been following along with the progress of the series, make sure to check out our December 2010 interview with producer Bruce Timm —who's no stranger to bringing DC's heroes to life in animated form.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, the eleventh film to be released by DC Universe Animated Original Movies, is an interesting new idea for the studio and for DC Comics. The timing is hard to ignore -- the Ryan Reynolds-starring live-action motion picture, Green Lantern, gets released this Friday, while Emerald Knights came out last week -- just in time. This is particularly notable since Emerald Knights is, while not an origin story of Hal Jordan (that tale can be found in the rather unremarkable Green Lantern: First Flight), something of a primer for the universe of the Green Lantern Corps. It's almost like an extended, animated introduction.
Instead of being a conventional narrative like most of the other DC Animated films, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is more like an anthology. There's a single, overarching storyline, which involves the reappearance of Krona, an ancient enemy of the Green Lantern Corps that...

It's finally over. I'm still a bit numb to that fact, as Smallville is the one of the only two shows I've ever watched consistently for a decade (Friends being the other).
I was as excited as anyone to see how the road would end, or rather, begin, for Clark as the finale approached. Afterward, I'm still digesting it all, but finding myself with conflicting feelings about it. Not to distract from or take issue with the thoughts of my compadre Nick, who captured the essence of the Smallville finale quite well, I thought, there were a few items that didn't exactly sit well with me - despite my overall satisfaction with how the story ended.
Against my own advice to just sit back and enjoy the end of a long and often arduous journey, I'm going to take this moment to express some things I thought could have been handled better.

I found this video over at the Green Lantern Corps message boards, it's a 12 minute behind the scenes look at DC's newest animated movie 'Green Lantern: Emerald Knights'. I'm not sure if this has been posted or not but it's new to me so if it's old just let me know and I'll take it down. I'm fairly impressed with how this is looking so far, and it's looking like they used a lot of the character designs from 'First Flight', which I have no problems with, I thought 'First Flight' was a great movie and now I'll be looking forward to this new movie even more. Kyle Rayner had been battling his sometime nemesis Grayven when he fell into a time-warp and wound up in the 30th Century, 30th Century Brainiac put Kyle in a time-machine, intending to send Kyle back to his regular time.

A few more details have emerged for the Cartoon Network series from DC Entertainment and executive producer Bruce Timm. "[The animated series] doesn't follow the direct continuity of the [live-action] movie or 'First Flight' or anything that we've done before, but it doesn't contradict them either. They're all pretty consistent in terms of Hal Jordan being the Green Lantern and so forth, so hopefully by the time our show comes on, people will have seen the 'Green Lantern' movie — several times, hopefully — and they'll know the backstory, so we can go off from there." So says Bruce Timm, the producer behind the windfall of animated films and cartoon series featuring characters from DC Comics. Though not many details have been revealed regarding the CG series (Robert "Freddy Krueger"...

Green Lantern is poised to have a big year in 2011, but the live-action film starring Ryan Reynolds as hotshot hero Hal Jordan isn't the only upcoming project with an emerald hue.
Back in June, word got out about not one, but two animated projects in the works featuring Hal and the Green Lantern Corps: "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" and "Green Lantern: Emerald Knights," an animated movie that many speculated would be a sequel to 2009's "Green Lantern: First Flight."
With both projects poised to make 2011 a very good year for DC's ring-wielding hero, I spoke to producer Bruce Timm to get a few more details about each project.

My Thoughts: Well, whaddya know? Within 10 seconds Ryan Reynolds is playing the irresponsible playboy type. Nice to see Mr. ScarJo going out on a limb with this role. We get it Reynolds, you have ridiculous abs and a sarcastic delivery. Give me the Nathan Fillion fake trailer over this one any day. Sadly, the miscasting doesn’t end there. I know some people will defend Blake Lively’s acting till the day they die, but she just doesn’t fit in this role. When they try to play her off as demure or tomboy-ish the discomfort is palpable.
As the trailer wears on, it’s not just the acting that worries me. I’ve been excited for this movie for a while. As a fan of the Green Lantern, it...

Hardware isn’t something that we’ve focused on too much here at HeyUGuys but it’s something that interests me greatly and you may well see more coming in the near future. Before working on HeyUGuys, I had helped to spec around £250 000′s worth of audio visual equipment for a very large UK investment house in London. After it was all installed, it was then my job to manage and run the Av which I did for a couple of years. Then HeyUGuys came along and the rest is history.
Why the pre-amble? I guess it’s just to get you all used to the fact that we might start doing the odd hardware review. In that vein, today I got invited along to Pinewood Studios where Panasonic now have a showroom with all their latest gizmos that I can’t afford to buy! The event today was to...
