  Anne Chan : So here we are. Drifting across the Pacific. Where do you suppose we'll end up?

  Tom Chan : I don't know, but I wish Pop had taught more Chinese. It might come in handy.

  Anne Chan : Calling Chan Van. We're now at Elm Street.

  Tom Chan : You better wait here. You won't be able to keep up with me. After all, you're just a girl and...

  [climbs on top of a fence]
