A Modern Tale
Hitchcoc24 April 2021
A Colombine type massacre takes place in an LA high school. It appears that a group of computer geeks are behind it, but finding evidence is the roadblock. The kicker is the technological expertise of these kids. They are gamers and are used to the setting where high school kids congregate. Some of them have been persecuted but it appears to be more than that.

Another Columbine?

Warning: Spoilers
A High School is shaken when two masked men enter the building and begin firing upon the defenseless student body. Is this another instance of revenge, or do these automatic weapons wielders have a hidden agenda? The FBI team that arrives after the shootings are puzzled as to why the carnage. One of the attackers is killed by one of his companions. One of the surviving students, Karen Camden, probably knew more about the assault by what appears to be nerdy students.

Among the killed students are three emblematic figures in the school sports program. This fact gives the agents a theory that in addition to the two trigger happy shooters, there was a third man that is not accounted for. Charlie, working on his algorithms toys with the idea that the third man's path was not a random act, but this person had a thing about the three prominent figures that were slain. In fact, everything seems to point to Karen Camden knowing more than what she tells the G-Men.

This episode parallel other school killings one has seen in the news. More and more young people that feel slighted by their peers will go to impossible lengths to take care of those tormentors that have made their lives impossible. When incidents such as this happen, in most cases, a situation arise that can be traced to an injustice the perpetrator suffered at the hands of the ones that were cruel to them.

This installment was directed by Peter Ellis and based on the script written by Don McGill. Larry has a crush on Megan Reeves. He succeeds in asking her to dinner, not before agonizing about what type of restaurant he will take her. Peter MacNicol and Diane Farr have some good moments. Laura Estabrook has a small role.
