Mary Gets Her Wish!
Hitchcoc17 February 2017
Mary manages to get an idea for a talk show past the station director. Since the idea originated with Rhoda, she is brought into the fold. The problem is that the director has insisted that Ted and Sue Ann are to be co-hosts. With these two egos, it is a recipe for disaster. They try having a production meeting. First they talk about billing. Then they insist on doing biographies for each of them. Rhoda finally says how dumb this sounds and they leave in a huff. Now Mary must go through gyrations to try to salvage her show. The real humor comes from the self-centeredness of the duo. We know that somehow things are disintegrating. What can she do? The real star of the whole episode is Georgette who takes dictation during the meetings. When she reads back what people say it is hilarious. The other thing I won't forget is when Sue-Ann reprises her two year old rendition of Shirley Temple singing "On the Good Ship, Lollipop."

A dumb idea

Funny straight ahead comedy.

Mary's TV show idea is greenlit for a pilot. However, there's a small problem. Turns out it was Rhoda's idea, so Mary brings her in as co-producer. Then it is revealed the station wants Ted and Sue Ann as hosts since they are already under contract. Big problem.

The egotistical Ted and Sue Ann are soon taking the show in new directions - basically a showcase of their own personalities. This provokes blunt assessment from Rhoda which Mary must work to smooth out.

Lots of laugh out loud moments from Ted and Sue Ann, and from Georgette carefully taking very precise minutes. Gruff Lou has some great moments being drawn into dramas of Mary's show, which he doesn't much care for anyway.
