The sin of pride
dtucker8629 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is about Tony a young Mexican American student who has gone to sixteen different schools because of the poor nomadic life his family has to live. He lives alone and works full time and its no wonder he struggles in class to the point of physical collapse. Richard Yniguez gives a wonderful performance as this strong proud young man who brings pride to his people and I really hated that stubborn uncle of his who had the intelligence quotient of a turnip and at first refused to help him. There is a good intense argument between him and Pete where our favorite teacher tries to talk some sense into his thick head. The boy is acting more like an adult then he is!

Overworked Student

Tony Rodriguez, a Mexican American student is exhausted from going to school and having to work all night.

A very good 5th season episode. Richard Yniguez gives a good performance as Tony, he appeared in many TV movies including "Tribes" and "The Deadly Tower". An interesting part to this episode is that Pete suggests that Tony take some public assistance but he is too proud to do that. He also is living alone and has to move in with his uncle, who is feuding with Tony's father.
