- TriviaWhen Mr. Tebbs appears on the shop floor wearing a wig, Mr. Humphries jokes that if he "trimmed his moustache off, he could get a job as Harry Secombe", who was a well known actor at that time. James Hayter, who plays Mr Tebbs, worked with Harry Secombe in the musical version of Oliver! (1968). James Hayter played the bookstore owner, and Harry Secombe played the bumbling Mr Bumble.
- GoofsAt a staff meeting to discuss redundancy it was decided that the last in would be the one to lose their job, whereupon Mr Lucas (Trevor Bannister) declared that he was last in so he would have to go. However Mr Tebbs (James Hayter) was the last one in, replacing the recently deceased actor Arthur Brough, but not his character Mr Grainger.

[Mr. Tebbs decides to resign]
Mr. Percival Tebbs: It has been a long, glittering career. From now on it could be nothing more than an anticlimax. I realize I must step aside, make room for a younger man to climb to the dizzy heights which I've occupied for so long. How stupid of me to try to look younger. It was only because I'd hoped to save up to take Mrs. Tebbs for a last holiday to her birthplace in Wales. For old times' sake.
[Wistfully]
Mr. Percival Tebbs: To Bangor.
- ConnectionsReferences Ben-Hur (1959)
This one is really funny, it has some great lines, Mr Tebbs has his best line, where he explains he's taking his wife to Bangor. The funniest moment has to be where they all turn on one another, explaining how they all truly feel.
Young Mr Grace seemed to be getting more to do, despite his advancing years, Harold Bennett had wonderful, great delivery and timing, as well as being physically funny. James Hayter just didn't seem to sit right some how, no doubting the man's talent, just not a character I cared for.
A falling out is always funny. 8/10
