Originally the production crew asked Angela Lansbury to appear in this episode as the narrator of Peter's novel. She turned it down due to the nature of the episode, and Betty White was signed on instead. On the commentary of this episode Seth MacFarlane himself says "She would appear in a film called Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971) but thinks that this episode is too pornographic!"
Carol Burnett filed a lawsuit for copyright infringement, statutory violation of right of privacy, and misappropriation of name among other claims because her cleaning woman character was used here. She was seeking more than $2 million but lost the court case.
