Telma Hopkins, Linda Park and Vanessa Marano are set as series regulars opposite Shanola Hampton and Dascha Polanco in NBC pilot Dangerous Moms, from Warner Bros. Television and Universal TV.
Written by Janine Sherman Barrois based on the Spanish series Señoras del (h)Ampa, Dangerous Moms is an off-center dark dramedy about four diverse mothers who accidentally kill the queen bee of their school’s PTA during the demonstration of a new high-end food processor. The story becomes a female anthem about friendship and family as it tells the story of one completely unprepared group of women who must juggle their everyday lives while their worlds are turned upside down.
Hopkins will play Fatima. The highly spiritual Fatima lives in and works as a manager at one of Pia’s (Polanco) buildings, where she takes care of her own grandson. She is also a full-time embalmer at a popular funeral home.

The 2016 blu ray release of the Frankenstein and Wolf Man Legacy Collections was a moment of celebration for movie and monster lovers everywhere, bringing together all the golden age appearances of Frankenstein’s misbegotten creation and Larry Talbot’s hairy alter-ego. Universal Studios treated those dusty creature features to luminous restorations; from Bride of Frankenstein to She Wolf of London, these essential artifacts never looked less than impeccable and, at times, even ravishing. Colin Clive’s frenzied declaration, “It’s Alive!”, never felt more appropriate.
Now Universal has turned their attention to their other legendary franchise players, Dracula, the sharp-dressed but undead ladies’ man and Im-ho-tep, the cursed Egyptian priest who loved not wisely but too well.

Nicole decides to give in to Scooter’s sleazy demands, Rafe arrests his father, and Abigail dumps Chad at the altar during their vow renewal ceremony on Days of Our Lives.

Julie thinks Eli should ditch Gabi. Kate thinks Chad should dump Abby. Do either of them have a point or should they learn to mind their own business?
Jack: I don't like Gabi, so I'm inclined to agree with Julie, but really she should know better. Harping about it didn't get her anywhere when Jj was dating Gabi and she shouldn't expect it to work better now.
And Kate is totally ridiculous.

It’s just a few months now until Jack Bauer will return to television screens after a four year absence in 24: Live Another Day, a miniseries continuation of the show that aired for eight seasons across a nine year period on the Fox network. Here, the former CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit) agent will be joined in a London-set story by the ever-dependent Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), his former love Audrey Raines (Kim Raver), her father, Secretary of Defence turned President James Heller (William Devane) and a collection of new characters played by the likes of Chuck’s Yvonne Strahovski, Game of Thrones’ Michelle Fairley, Colin Salmon and even Stephen Fry as the Prime Minister.
Whilst this new iteration will drop the series’ most notable quirk – events being shown in real time over a twenty four hour period – it will presumably be as manic and unpredictable as its predecessor,...

The third Atx Television Festival will take place in Austin, TX from June 5-8th, 2014. The fest consists of a weekend of panels with actors, writers, directors, showrunners and more, as well as screenings of classic shows, never aired pilots, current series and new premieres. Graham Yost is a man always working on something, which is saying a lot considering he’s the showrunner of, arguably, FX’s best drama, Justified. On top of his regular duties on that show, he’s busy creating new shows in his spare time. He has another series coming to FX – a Keri Russel Kgb spy drama called The Americans – as well as acting as executive producer for Falling Skies, recently renewed for a third season. But what I really want to talk about is the new project Yost has headed for NBC. It’s a simple idea, but at one time Justified was just a simple idea, and now it’s one of the greatest series I watch. Does Yost’s new project have that potential?
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Yost is working on an hour-long drama about a female spy in 1970s Los Angeles called L.

And while questions and spoilers regarding Revenge Season 2 are already floating about, let's stop for a moment and relive "Reckoning." Join Round Table panelists Matt Richenthal, Christine Orlando, Chandel Charles and Leigh Raines below as they do just that...
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite scene from the finale?
Matt: I can tell you my favorite scene: Emily uttering the cliche that if she doesn't make it, tell Jack that she loves him. Barf! My favorite was probably the slow-motion walk of Victoria into that airplane, as we all wondered whether she had a plan or would actually perish once it took off.
Christine: I loved Emily and Nolan sharing a toast to her father. It was a touching and sweet bonding moment amidst the rest of the chaotic back stabbing that is Revenge.

Revenge wraps up its thrilling first season on Wednesday.
But before we get to the "Reckoning," let's talk "Grief." Below, we invite readers to join staff writers Matt Richenthal, Christine Orlando, Chandel Charles and Leigh Raines as they dissect the penultimate episode of season one...
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Matt: Victoria slicing open that painting and wiping that smile off Lydia's smug face. Once a fraud, always a fraud. Point, succubus.
Christine: I can't get enough of Nolan. He was so happy that Emily forgave him for his deception and actually thanked him. Nolan's so cute because as much as he wants to help and protect her, he also craves Emily's praise and acceptance. Unfortunately, it may just cost him his life.
Chandel: Probably when Nolan was faking it as the cable guy. He wanted to get in on the Revenge action the whole time...

Following such a Huck-centric episode of Scandal this week, it's hard to think of anything else except the (sort of) gentle giant and whether or not he'll recover from tapping back into his dark side. But the Round Table is back and we're attempting to do just that.
Join our expert panel of Jim Garner, Carla Day, Leigh Raines and Miranda Wicker as they answer a few burning questions about "Crash and Burn" and then add your answers in the comments.
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Jim: I really enjoyed Olivia in David's office when she told him where to find Amanda. For the first time he could see she was not made of stone and that she really did care about her clients. It was such a brief glimpse behind the normally in control front she presents.
Carla: Usually a specific scene will jump out at me,...

There’s a subgenre of modern television that blends the procedural tradition — weekly investigative stories with plots that wrap up in an hour — with the expansive narrative possibilities of a serialized drama. On paper, this mix seems like a can’t-miss formula for success: It’s Lost meets CSI! And the best practitioners of the “serialsodic” style can create great television that feels at once classical and modern: Think Justified, or Fringe, or The Good Wife, which can all serve up a tasty one-and-done episode plot while constantly building their overarching stories. The twist is that serialsodic shows rarely do well in the ratings.

Revenge brought up the topic of perception versus reality last Wednesday night, as Grandpa Grayson went at it with his son and Conrad told Charlotte the truth about her father.
Indeed, a Pandora's Box was opened and we all can't wait to see what falls out of it on this week's engagement party-themed installment. First, though, Round Table panelists Christine Orlando, Leigh Raines and Dan Forcella are here to take a look back...
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite moment from the episode?
Christine: Is it sad to say that my favorite thing about the episode was the outfits. I thought all of the dresses were stunning and Madeline Stowe was gorgeous in her white dress with the red details. I also love that Victoria can dictate what her guests will wear to her party. Even when it all goes to Hell, at least she can guarantee that everyone will look good.

She may have blood on her hands, but Emily Thorne is not backing down. Quite the opposite, in fact, as the latest new episode of Revenge concluded with this heroine for re-energized and inspired.

Leigh: I feel like the obvious answer was the touching scene between Charlotte and Emily when Charlotte said she always wanted a sister. But I think my personal favorite was the reveal that Victoria's lawyer was working with Emily.
Chandel: That end scene when it was clear that the pause button was clearly not getting pushed.

Frank Darabont, the man who once brought the zombie apocalypse to AMC, is now bringing film noir to TNT.
As his first project after leaving The Walking Dead, Darabont has chosen L.A. Noir, an adaptation of L.A. Noir: The Struggle For The Soul Of America's Most Seductive City, the true crime book by John Buntin, which Publisher's Weekly says "chronicles the complex, interlocking lives of brutal gangster Mickey Cohen and durable police chief William Parker, telling their stories against the backdrop of Tinseltown from the 1930s to the '60s."
This project is something of a departure for both Darabont and basic cable network TNT. As a director, Darabont has brushed up against crime dramas a few times (The Shawshank Redemption, episodes of the TV series Raines and The Shield), but he's best known for his work in horror. And TNT airs plenty of procedurals, but the closest thing to L.

Graham Yost has long operated under the Hollywood radar despite having written three blockbuster movies: Speed, Broken Arrow, and Hard Rain. In television, he started to generate buzz as the creator of the short-lived Boomtown and Raines; then as a writer of HBO’s prestigious Band of Brothers; and a writer, director, and executive producer of its sibling show The Pacific. Now, he is a bonafide Outstanding Drama Series contender for his latest project which he calls simply “a fun hour of television”— the new FX Western/crime drama Justified, based on a short story by the legendary Elmore Leonard. Yost talks to Deadline TV Contributor Diane Haithman: Deadline: How did this series about Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens come about? Graham Yost: I had a deal with Sony, they were looking for something for me to do, and they had optioned the Elmore Leonard story. I had been reading him for 25 years,...

Walt Disney Studios has announced that they have acquired and are presently in development on a new picture called The Runner. The movie is a science fiction film on which Disney is collaborating with writer Dave Andron, director Marc Foster and Brad Simpson, Brian Grazer, and Blacklight Transmedia’s Zak Kadison and Eric Lieb.
The story, set in 2027, centers on a man who travels back in time to visit Earth before it became not fit to live in an attempt to change the past. The plot is decidedly non-Disney. It seems reasonable to consider it as a typical post apocalyptic time travel project.
In the near future, with the Earth’s surface inhabitable, a small group of survivors pick one man to travel back in time to try and stop the event that caused the destruction. Once he lands in the past, however, overlooks the humanity and egoistically tries to save his beloved sweetheart.

You know the drill. You love that show. Want it to last forever. Then they go and cancel it. The TV execs don’t care that you plan your life around it. They don’t care that you obsess over the characters so much it’s as if they are real people you know and care about. All they care about is advertising revenue and whether it’s attracting enough greenbacks. Programmes after all are what fill in the time between the advertising. The reality means good shows get dumped in the trash. Let’s pay tribute to the shows we loved that should never have been axed whilst lesser offerings were allowed to go on and on…

I absolutely adore 24 and as a die-hard fan I think it's a brilliant show. It not only revolutionized television with its real-time format, but has been consistently entertaining since day one. Kiefer Sutherland was already somewhat of a star when the series premiered, but he became a household name synonymous with his character Jack Bauer, a hard as nails government agent out to protect the innocent and seek justice at the cost of his own life. I'm just as sorry as any fan to see the show go after eight seasons, but I'm also relieved. 24 has grown more than a little tired over the years, with story-lines and plot devices that have become incredibly familiar. That's because much of what we see has occurred before and every story line, plot thread or turn of events feels directly copied from previous seasons. Jack and his colleagues not only find themselves in the same situations,...

Deadwood star Timothy Olyphant is returning to the world of cable television. The actor, who recently appeared on the second season of the FX series Damages, has signed on to star in the network’s upcoming drama pilot based on Elmore Leonard's short story Fire in the Hole. The untitled project, from Sony TV,Timberman/Beverly Productions and creator/executive producer Graham Yost, centers on U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Olyphant) who returns to his hometown in Kentucky. Yost, whose written such flicks as Speed, Broken Arrow and Hard Rain, previously created the short-lived television series Raines, starring Jeff Goldblum, and Boomtown, starring Donnie Wahlberg and Neal McDonough. Yost said he was interested in Olyphant from the get-go because he could see him as an Elmore Leonard character, just like the two actors who, in his opinion, have best embodied Leonard personages on the big screen: George Clooney in...

Television Rating: 3.5/5.0 Chicago – The revolving door of casting in the world of “Law & Order” continues this month when Jeff Goldblum joins the cast of USA Network’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” as the new partner for Detective Megan Wheeler (Julianne Nicholson). The season kicks off with a well-paced and intriguing episode featuring the old cast on Sunday, April 19th, 2009 and the new member joins the squad a week later.
“Criminal Intent” has always been an intriguing installment of the Dick Wolf franchise, largely due to what I consider the best performance across all three versions including the original “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” - the work by the great Vincent D’Onofrio. This versatile and unique actor makes decisions that others wouldn’t even consider.

Jeff Goldblum has joined the cast of The Baster, the upcoming romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. The flick is being helmed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the duo behind the Will Ferrell figure skating comedy Blades of Glory. Alan Loeb (Things We Lost in the Fire) penned the screenplay. The story follows a man (Bateman) whose female best friend (Aniston) plans to become pregnant with artificial insemination, but he replaces the preferred sample with his own. Seven years later, she returns to New York with her son, and he is forced to live with the secret that he is the child's real father. Goldblum will play Bateman's business partner and confidant, whose idea of working out is walking slowly on the treadmill while eating a candy bar. Goldblum has been pretty low key as of late. In 2007 he hit the small screen in the short lived...

(Note: With the announcement of the Academy Award nominations today, I'm reposting this entry in my "Character Actors I Love" series that originally ran in my other blog. While Goldblum was an extreme dark horse in this particular race, I'd still like to spotlight him a bit.)
I've been waiting about 20 years for this to happen, for Jeff Goldblum to get a role that matched "The Fly." Because you see, were Jeff Goldblum a computer program, he'd really be Adrian Brody 1.0: Quirky-looking actor, not what you'd call conventionally handsome, but with a great screen presence. There's amazing intelligence behind Jeff Goldblum's eyes, like someone's overcranked his engine and he doesn't know how to handle the power. Even in absolute crap like "Independence Day," he's always playing the smartest guy in the room, and he knows he has to be careful with that intelligence. He ever manages to elevate...

NEW YORK -- October Road got a strong start on its journey following Grey's Anatomy, leading ABC to a primetime win while the premieres of NBC's Andy Barker, PI and Raines failed to impress.
Meanwhile, "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" was greatly diminished from its earlier run following American Idol but still won its 8 p.m. time period against NCAA basketball, a new Ugly Betty and a repurposed Office.
October Road averaged 14.3 million viewers and a 5.8 rating/16 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates released Friday by Nielsen Media Research. It fell from 15.3 million viewers and a 6.2/17 at 10 p.m. to 13.4 million and a 5.3/15 at 10:30 p.m., although it still easily won the time period.
Not so with either of NBC's premieres, Andy Barker, PI (5.4 million, 2.4/6) at 9:30 p.m. nor the cop drama Raines (10.3 million, 2.9/8). Andy Barker tied with a repeat of Family Guy (5.4 million, 2.4/6) for fourth place in the time period. It lost steam from its lead-in, a new Scrubs (6.4 million, 2.8/7).

Last week, in an attempt to do damage control from the effects of the ratings juggernaut known as American Idol, ABC reshuffled its Wednesday night sitcom schedule. But will that move be enough to save newbie sitcom The Knights of Prosperity? Probably not. It looks like the show's fate may already be decided.
The Knights of Prosperity debuted on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 on ABC. The sitcom follows a gang of misfits (the "Knights") who come up with the idea to burgle rock-legend Mick Jagger's luxury apartment. The show was initially going to be called Let's Rob Jeff Goldblum but was changed to Let's Rob Mick Jagger when Goldblum's Raines pilot for NBC was picked up. That titled was changed to Knights of Prosperity, perhaps at the request of Jagger who appeared in the premiere episode. The series features actors Donal Logue, Sofia Vergara, Lenny Venito, Maz Jobrani, Kevin Michael Richardson and Josh Grisetti.

LONDON -- Signing her first deals for the commercial broadcaster's suite of digital channels, ITV head of acquisitions Jay Kandola said Tuesday that the broadcaster has picked up three new dramas: John Wells-produced crime drama Smith, from Warner Bros. Television, and NBC Universal's Irish crime family drama The Black Donnellys and forensic drama Raines. The pickups were announced the same day that the U.K's dominant commercial network said it will close its in-house children's production division, eliminating 19 jobs. Smith, the Ray Liotta and Jonny Lee Miller starrer that follows the personal lives of a crew of career criminals, will air on male-skewing ITV4, while Donnelly's will air on younger-skewing ITV2.
