A confident start to the fourth season
DVD_Connoisseur13 January 2007
If the first episode of the fourth season is anything to go by, "Nip / Tuck" has lost none of its edge and continues to be one of the most outrageously imaginative and dramatic programmes on television today.

Starting with a ménage à trois with a perverse twist, this episode of "Nip / Tuck" sets out not only to shock but to deliver superbly dark humour in thick slices. It's one of the reasons why this series is just so watchable. It takes risks and occasionally wanders right to the edge of acceptability for a television show.

With some very familiar faces appearing in this episode (including Larry Hagman, Kathleen Turner, Brooke Shields, Tracy Scoggins and Amanda Pays), the show clearly attracts top-drawer talent.

Dylan Walsh and the impossibly smooth Julian McMahon are as watchable as ever. Their ability to convey both comedy and gut-wrenching drama is simply brilliant and shouldn't be underestimated.

Television doesn't get much better than this...

Repairing a sexy voice, Christian sees a shrink and deals with three ways!
blanbrn17 April 2021
This episode 1 of season 4 of "Nip and Tuck" called "Cindy Plumb" is far out brash, bold and sexy! As again Christian is at his stud ways going around south beach having three ways with a mom and daughter team! Perhaps him seeing a sexy shrink Dr. Faith Wolper(the beautiful Brooke Shields) will tame him! Plus the episode is memorable as Sean has a patient in one Cindy Plumb(Kathleen Turner) who wants to clear and spice up her voice so she can sound sexy and please phone sex customers again! Also memorable was the great late Larry Hagman as a rich guy who drops in for a rare and expensive prostate procedure who's sexy trophy wife(Sanaa Lathan) stands beside him in the mix of it all. For real this episode was well written and pushed the envelope with it's sexy scenes and the talent and cast chemistry blended great and super overall fine well done episode.

Think people, THINK!

Warning: Spoilers
People must clearly not remember about what nip/tuck's all about. Every season's been filled with freaks! So why should this one not start off the same way?

Brooke Shields looked the part of a middle aged therapist that did her best to appear professional with Christian, when in her mind, and eyes, she clearly wanted him to bend her over her desk...lucky lady got her wish.

Tracy Scoggins looked the part of a has-been mother, with a few to many face lifts and lips like a toilet plunger, that needed to use her teenage/VERY early 20 something daughter to pick up hot, rich guys.

Kathleen Turner totally needs an Emmy nod for her role as a divorced, 50 year old, plain Jane thats kept the cigarette makers and liquor stores in business for so long that its ruined her career instrument...her used to be sexy sounding vocal cords needed for her role as Cindy Plumb; seemingly popular phone sex personality. A total riot! I'm extremely curious, and yeah, excited, about the possibility of Christian's repressed homosexual tendencies.

Nip/Tuck's one of the best shows on cable today, and judging from the multi-episode montage at the end this episode, I don't foresee myself being disappointed.

now thats entertainment!

Nip Tuck is supposed to be dark, funny, disturbing and sexy all at once. I just loved the first episode on season 4. Now come on guys, isn't this the reason why we all fell in love with Nip Tuck in the first place. I am sure there is no one out there watching for plastic surgery tips. How many shows come along that have the quote "No Boob Jobs for Blow Jobs" That's what this is all about. You don't look good, they make you better, you look good, they make you even, better, and as an added bonus, most of the lucky patients get to sleep with Christian. The star studded cast only makes it even more entertaining. I can't think of any other show I would like to watch other than this. Keep it up guys!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
As Billy Eckstine once said, "From the bottom of my heart, dear, I apologize." Mea Culpa. As I wrote, I record most programs. Well, I had my VCR set for one hour, thinking that's the length of the program. In discussing the episode the next day with a friend, she told me also Tivoed the show, and let me watch it (again). I found out that N/T ran about one hour and 18 minutes long that night. I had completely missed the last 18 minutes, and when I saw it the next evening, Yes, Brooke definitely accepted Troy in the canine position. So, Centava99, please accept my apology. Disregard what I had previously written. An alert to viewers who might still be using VCRs to tape shows. Remember, Nip/Tuck sometimes runs more than the one hour most dramas usually do.

Warning: Spoilers
In response to Billroom's comment: At the end of the first episode of the 4th season of Nip/Tuck, Brooke Shields' character, does in fact get it doggy style for Dr. Troy. I'm not sure how you managed to miss it but there it is. It was a very good episode though. I was really impressed with the writers' ability to consistently push the show to the limit. I just bought the 3rd season on DVD. It's great. Even the second time around. Also, what has happened to Matt. I noticed that they made a reference that he was "in the garage" and he stayed there the entire episode! What's going on? And is it just me or do the Fall previews for this show keep getting later and later. When it premiered in 2003, it started in July. Now we're into September. Whats up with that?

Holy crap!

Warning: Spoilers
Gotta say, at the end of the ep, I was kinda thinking 'Eh'. It was trying way too hard on all levels.

A coupla things struck me as most 'out there'--First, isn't it always a sign that a show's going wayyyyy downhill when you have to have soooo many celebrity guest stars in one episode? I counted 6.

Second, Tracy Scoggins, Brooke Shields, Kathleen Turner, and Bree Walker. Holy Crap! The worst were Scoggins and Walker. First, Walker's lips were bigger than my hand. She just looked hideous. And I'm not talking about her hands. And Scoggins, well she has the body of a 25 year old, and the face of the nearing-50 that she is. It was kinda freaky. Her storyline, I won't even go into!

The only really amusing one of all was Turner, who played a phone sex goddess trying to reclaim her original sultry voice after losing it to years of booze and smoking. She was a hoot, and I wish she'd had more screen time.

Seeing Brooke as the therapist who takes it doggy from Troy was just embarrassing. Maybe this will be explored further later in the season, but not only did it not make sense, it just looked bad, too. And she looked bad as well. I've seen her on ET and those other shows recently, and she looks great. Were the makeup folks at n/t TRYING to make her look old? All in all not a great harbinger of this season. My 2 cents.
