Very happy but sad...

I have always love That 70's Show - with its humour and great scripts. To hear it was ending was such a blew to the mind, but it was a brilliant ending. I've wrote the basic ending and plot of the finale. I will always love the show! As the series concluded, the Formans decide not to move to Florida and sell their home (after Kitty gives a sentimental tour of the house to a prospective buyer with the TV camera as the buyer's POV allowing viewers to see the enclosed layout of the first floor).

Hyde gives up old habits, but returns to them shortly. Fez and Jackie start dating. Hyde's father gives him ownership of the record store. The episode also featured the return of Eric and Kelso. Donna prepares to finally leave Point Place to attend college, but stays to wait for Eric, with whom she may have gotten back together.

The reunited group of friends enjoy flashbacks from past years such as Hyde punching Kelso in the arm, and Red's numerous threats of shoving his foot up people's asses.

The episode ends at the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve 1979. The gang smokes out one last time before the new decade in the basement and walk upstairs to join the parents. At the 3-2-1 countdown to 1980, we see the license plate with the producers' names showing an "80" sticker in the lower right hand corner of the plate, as opposed to 76/77/78/79.

The final credits shown were the same used in the pilot with the teenage cast driving in the Vista Cruiser singing along to "Hello, It's Me!" by Todd Rundgren.

Sentimental Journey

This was a great ending. Not just an ending of the show. For someone like myself, it was very symbolic. Growing up as a teen in the seventies. I was able to relate to the music, the politics of the day, the fashions , entertainment in general etc. It was truly a blast from the past. This episode was the 70's in a nutshell for the gang. The good, the bad and all the rest. It brought up the emotions of this group of teens and mixed with series flashbacks culminated in a fine episode. It was how these kids grew up from awkward adolescents to become young adults and move forward. This episode was a celebration of this particular decade. Having growing up at this time, it probably hits a middle aged guy like myself more than say someone younger or perhaps even older. I thought it was clever that the 70s was treated as something fragile. The ending perfect. The countdown and than before the HAPPY NEW YEAR into 80.... Just like that show over. Very well done and actually quite sad that this time period is just a fond memory for this gang and for dweebs like myself. Love the final touch with the expiration 80 on the license plate.

Simply One of the Best

Wonderfully nostalgic episode that looked back on all the great times over the past 8 seasons and a truly fitting send off for one of the best sitcoms there has ever been.

Full of emotion and laughter we got to see one last red "foot in ass" comment, one last falling off the water tower, one last Hyde punching Kelso and best of all one last Donna and Eric moment on the hood of the station wagon.

A true gem of a show that had some of the best characters and jokes of any sitcom I've ever seen, It will always be remembered fondly by me and bring a smile to my face whenever I catch myself thinking about it

That '70s Finale (#8.22)

This was a fantastic ending for this great show.

At first I was worried it will end up being mainly flashbacks but luckily those were very few and they were actually great.

The idea of ending it on the last second of the 70's was awesome. I loved it. It was great they got Kelso and Eric for the finale. And we got to see so many things for the last time that we were so used to seeing. Foot in the ass, Kelso jumping off the water tower. Eric and Donna reconciling on the hood of the car...I am glad they are staying together. It was a beautiful scene.

I will miss the characters. I loved what Kitty said to them all, as well as that her and Red are staying.

Beautiful episode. Made be both laugh and cry a bit.

One of the greatest moments in TV history

I'm a die hard fan of this show, and it was very sad to see it come to an end. It is even sadder to realize it's been almost 7 years since I watch this episode for the first time. I did not start watching this show until season 4, so one of the first things I did was started buying it on DVD. Having been born in the late 70's I can't say I lived through this era, but my mother was only 16 we she got pregnant with me, and my home town seemed somewhat stuck in the 70's during the early 80's. So this show really hit home for me because I grew up listening to most of the music referenced, and my mother pretty much raised me like it was the 70's. My family and myself watch this show regularly on Netflix, and we start it over literally after we watch this episode.

One of my favorite series finales

Warning: Spoilers
Not a lot of sitcoms to watch anymore, most are cheesy with terrible acting and even worse writing, but love that we can go back and watch great ones like this show. I was born in '86 and this will always be one of my favorite shows, even if I missed a few references from that decade.

Loved this ending, it closed all the chapters with everyone (although the Fez and Jackie love angle still makes me scratch my head lol), brought back Kelso and Eric even for a brief moment, and made homage to classic moments throughout the series.

Donna's acting will always amaze me, and I always felt Kitty was a hugely underrated character, she was hilarious. Was never a huge fan of Laurie's character, and Randy was just cringey.

This show has made me laugh out loud more than enough times, spectacular writing and comedic timing. I wish there were more shows like it, but the writers, producers, and directors of the 90s are few and far between now, so these gems of a show will go down as classics in my book. Sad it ended, but 10 stars for giving the audience the ending it deserved.

Good finale to end a great show
Kingslaay31 August 2019
Wow, it felt special watching this show wrap up. That 70s show hit it out the park with lovable characters and great humour. Easy to see that the show took a dive when Eric left. Randy didn't quite cut it. He got better at saying his lines but he seemed too cringy. A random friend hanging out in someone else's parents didn't work. It was nice seeing Fez and Jackie get together and Kelso also return.

Overall a great show, thanks for the memories.

Well made finale with some cheasy and some very original ideas
pkpera8 August 2019
I just finished watching this serial, for which never heard. Found it accidently some 2 months ago.

First to say that season 8 was not bad at all, as some reviewers wrote here. Surely was one of the weakest, and 2 of main actors were out of it - except this, final episode. But that can be considered as not so bad - they started with really young actors, about 17-19, I guess. 8 seasons means actors about age 25 at end, while it was only some 2-3 years in character lives.

Love stories were pretty much predictable, but very ending was really genial. So, I give this rating 9, what would be above average for whole serial.
