A very funny episode, especially the audition

Warning: Spoilers
I always loved this episode and the best part is when she went to the club audition and danced in line with the four young girls trying to do the time step. It's hilarious. I loved how the young girls gave her a hard time and the one girl said "Can I give you a tip? I've known Ricky Ricardo for a long time...and you're not his type!" The only thing I didn't like is how she treated the dog under the table. It was funny, but she tugged at that dog so hard like it was a rag doll. Even though that was a trained dog, you could always easily tell it was a bit frightened and confused. That has always bothered me since I was a little kid,.

Cuban Pete

Warning: Spoilers
The only memorable moment is the Cuban Pete number performed by Lucy and Ricky. I know Lucille and Desi performed the song and comedy bits in theaters to prove to the Network audiences will love Lucy and Desi as a couple. They did. Although the dieting parts are funny, but I only remember the last part. It's a good episode overall.

Warning: Spoilers
An episode that centers on Lucy's desire to perform taken to extreme.

After dinner Lucy is the only one who can't admit she's gained weight . It's proven she has but no big deal to the others.

Still Lucy auditions with younger women but they are not rail thin either but Lucy doesn't fit the costume in fact it rips when Lucy . She goes on an extreme diet and exercise regiment with Ethel's help . I really didn't think Ethel , Ricky and Fred should have eaten that delicious dinner in front of her while she got celery for dinner! Still it was her idea .

She loses the necessary twelve pounds in a few days and does the number with Ricky and she's fantastic! But it's short lived. She has to be carried out on a stretcher and Ricky tells her she was great but she has to stay in bed for three weeks ! She's suffering from malnutrition! Yikes!

The comedy is good but some bad messages are pushed ultimately Lucy pays the price with her health.

Cuban Pete meets Sally Sweet.

Warning: Spoilers
It only took three episodes, but this one features one of the iconic moments of the classic sitcom. The episode surrounds Lucy's desire once again to be in Ricky's show, and she must lose 12 lbs in order to fit in the costume for the musical number with him. Thinking she is still the same weight as when she married Ricky, Lucy is stunned to realize that she has gained 20 pounds. With the help of Ethel, she goes on a crash diet and in a matter of four days manages to lose the weight and stashes the chorus girl Ricky has chosen into hiding so she can take over. But there's an interesting twist that will keep Lucy from going on further, and that makes this episode ironic as well as very funny.

This episode has many extremely humorous moments, whether it is Lucy's attempt at exercising, her fury over only getting to eat celery while everybody else has steak and potatoes, or her desire to get at least one taste of beef by stealing it from the dog underneath the table. In the years that I have watched the show, I don't recall them having a dog, and this one pops up out of nowhere. But all Is forgiven for that blooper when Ricky grabs his straw-hat off of one of his band members and is joined by Lucy for the very amusing finale.

The Three Dancers
maestrodawg65-473-98242131 August 2020
One of the dancers Lucy is with in the tryout looks large enough to be a lady wrestler. Does anyone know the names of the actresses who played the three dancers.

Funny but sad.

This episode is fairly controversial, especially in today's body shaming culture. Lucille Ball is great as usual but the idea that a woman needs to starve and torture herself to be seen as desirable is a real issue that is left unaddressed here. That said, the show is certainly dated and if we step aside from the social issues at hand, it is rather humorous at times.
