Creator Scott W. Perry tells Fango, “After the success of the first season, we’re moving forward with a bigger slate of movies with more talented filmmakers to come. Ten episodes are confirmed, and we hope to fill the season with 12 in total.”
The first batch of In Fear Of entries, currently visible on YouTube, range from “Monophobia: Fear of Being Alone” to “Achluophobia: Fear of the Dark.” Pictured here are Jeremiah Kipp’s “Scotomaphobia: Fear of Blindness” (pictured right and in two photos below) and Perry’s own “Gerontophobia: Fear of Aging.” “Scotomaphobia,” Perry tells us, “stars Susan Adriensen as Emily, a woman whose downward spiral of addiction in her life coincides with her increasing loss of vision.”
Kipp elaborates: “Our main character is going blind, so imagine an episode of Mr. Magoo where our blurry-eyed protagonist is bumping lines of coke, having shrieking booze-fueled confrontations, putting herself in...

The first thing people will notice about horror director Alan Rowe Kelly (Don't Look In The Basement, I'll Bury You Tomorrow) is that he is a gender bender, but Kelly has been bending more then genders his entire career as he has broken out the idea of conventionality. At the age of 39, with 40 just right around the corner, he had an epiphany. Bored with a career as a stylist, he made the sudden and dramatic move to horror. First testing the waters as an author, he switched over to the world of indie horror film directing where he won great acclaim for "I"ll Bury You Tomorrow". As he continued to direct films, he also started making a name for himself in the indie horror world as an actor playing power players, agents, something that rhymes with witch, etc. These were powerful, empowered characters that personally reflected upon Alan Rowe Kelly himself.

Scott W. Perry is an independent filmmaker who I just recently have had the pleasure of getting to know some and helping to spread the good word of his new horror short called 'Something Just', which we have shared with y'all here on Gt already. Check out my latest "Versus" to find out more on this cool filmmaker, how he got into the game and see what other projects he has for us horror fans to look forward to.
Brian S- First off, how'd you get into film making?
Swp- I’ve always loved film and I guess it was just a product of being raised in the right era for horror. It’s a clichéd story but it’s a true story. My relatives never looked beyond the rating of a horror film to allow me to watch it and there were some movies I remember seeing in the theater.

Short filmmakers, including those working in the horror genre, have a new venue to show their stuff thanks to the recently launched IndieRoar on-line fest. In addition to exposure, this program is offering cash and prizes to those whose minimovies are voted the best.
IndieRoar is seeking entries in the horror, drama, comedy, animation and documentary categories; the films must be under 25 minutes, and each one submitted will be given its own page at the IndieRoar website. (I Kill To Live, pictured, and Match Work are already available for viewing on the horror page). There, the public will be able to vote on their favorites, with the top 20 finalists in each genre viewed by judges from the independent cinema field (for horror, it’s The Blood Shed’s Alan Rowe Kelly and Joshua Grannell of the upcoming All About Evil) to determine the final winners. Fango got word of a new horror anthology project combining the talents of a number of independent East Coast horror filmmakers and actors. Titled Psycho Street, it’s a collaboration between Dark Ryder Filmworks and Rainey Daze Productions, along with a trio of other indie production companies.
Rainey Daze’s Raine Brown (first photo) will appear in all four segments, with the scripts written by Marv Blauvelt (second photo) and Trevor Wright of the upcoming Sculpture. That movie’s director, Pete Jacelone, takes the helm of the “Hypochondriac” story, co-produced by his THR Productions, about a small-town doctor and nurse (Blauvelt and Brown) who encounter a woman (The Blood Shed’s Alan Rowe Kelly) obsessed with surgery—performed on herself. Susan Adrienson, Zoe Daelman Chlanda, Jeremy Mulkey, David Gilke, Carl Burrows and Edward X. Young also star. Kelly himself directs “No Rest for the Wicked,” about a young, frustrated single...

If you were lucky enough to attend Fango’s recently wrapped Weekend of Horrors, you hopefully were also fortunate enough to check out the phenomenal short Insatiable, which screened on Sunday. As much about vampirism and fetishism as it is about a dwindling marriage, the flick is a rare silent pleasure, harking back to the days when creating films was more about experimentation than making money.
“Insatiable really started out of my frustration from trying to sell a feature script of mine in 2004,” writer/director Scott W. Perry reveals. “I kept on inquiring to many production companies looking for scripts, but the answers were all the same: no vampires, because they’ve been done to death. I had just left a job at A&E, where one of my duties was to watch their prime-time programming before it went to air for quality control. Now, it was reality shit, but...

Fango just got word of a new feature called Horrotica (no relation to our own upcoming Fangorotica) that starts principal photography this week in the New York/New Jersey era. Produced by Laughing Duck Media, it’s a horror/comedy directed by Marc Leland and starring a bevy of indie fright-flick starlets and stalwarts, headed by Tiffany Shepis (pictured).
Shepis plays B-movie actress Gina Sklar, whose attempts to track down stolen footage from her latest flick with the help of her number-one fan (Tim Mandala) lead her into some scary situations. The cast also includes J. Edmund Ford (as a producer named Lonzo), Flesh For The Beast’s Ruby Larocca, Penny Dreadful’s Tina Krause, busy newcomer Nicola Fiore, Carl “Doc” Burrows and The Blood Shed’s Alan Rowe Kelly. Frequent Kelly collaborator Tom Burns is doing the music, while Blood Night: The Legend Of Mary Hatchet’s Jeremy Selenfriend handles the makeup FX.

This will be the low-budget directorial debut from Jennifer Stone. We're excited because it also stars Alan Rowe Kelly (The Blood Shed, A Far Cry From Home) as an evil witch!!
Kodie (written by Berry) tells the story of David (Jayson Champion), a paranormal investigator, who has come to a point in his life where everything he cares about is being ripped away by domestic turmoil. On the previous Gay Of The Dead interview with Alan Rowe Kelly, we talked about his first two features, gender identity and killing kids. In this second half of our chat, we touch upon his latest endurance test, A Far Cry From Home, androgyny, the upcoming Don’t Look In The Basement remake and feeling guilty about finding white-trash-gay bashers hot.
Sean Abley: I loved your most recent film A Far Cry From Home especially for its uncompromising themes and execution. If “gay horror” as a genre truly exists, the films would have to be about something that is terrifying to the Glbt crowd, (e.g., people wanting to kill them because they’re queer)—which is what Far Cry is about. What was the genesis of this film?

I had never seen any of Alan Rowe Kelly’s films until he contacted me—literally moments after posting my first Gay Of The Dead blog. And yes, that is Alan in the photo to the left. Don’t worry, we’ll get to that later.
Kelly’s opening salvo to me was the grisly, intense and controversial A Far Cry From Home segment from the recently wrapped Gallery Of Fear anthology, which he co-wrote, co-directed and produced for his Southpaw Pictures. From there I jumped back to his first feature, I’LL Bury You Tomorrow, a loopy, sprawling, bloody feature that manages to wind storylines of seven main characters into one big crazy fest. After that, I popped in The Blood Shed, which starts off with a preteen kid being yanked in half and just gets more insane (see: awesome) from there.
After watching Kelly’s films and chatting...

Medicine Show Cinema has just released Under The Raven's Wing on DVD! Written and Directed by Susan Adriensen (Prison of the Psychotic Damned, The Blood Shed), Under The Raven's Wing is a psychological study in female friendship when it is warped and twisted by tragedy, control, and violence. Reminiscent of Margaret Atwood's Cat's Eye, it's not to be missed for the avid collector of offbeat and indie horror cinema.

Independent filmmaker and actress Susan Adriensen had a surprising air of calm about her as she waited for the screening of her film Under the Raven's Wing to start on the first night of the Fright Night Film Festival. “I hope the film plays well here.” Adriensen comments casually just before show time. “This isn’t a gore-fest, or anything like that; it’s more psychological.”...

The independent horror film Plague Town, which Fango’s Michael Gingold called “a nightmare captured on film,” will make its Midwest premiere at the fast-approaching Chicago edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors, to be held March 6-8 at the Wyndham Chicago O’Hare Hotel (6810 North Mannheim Road, Rosemont, Il). The screening will be introduced by writer/director David Gregory.
Plague Town is about a group of American travelers lost in the Irish countryside who run afoul of a group of bloodthirsty, disfigured children. Gregory (pictured with actress Kate Aspinwall and victim) makes his feature debut with the movie, having previously helmed nearly 100 genre documentaries and DVD features, including Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Shocking Truth, Portrait: The Making of Henry, Inside Manhunter, Tom Savini: The Early Years, The Godfathers of Mondo and many more.

Indie director Stolis Hadjicharalambous gave Fango the word that his violent thriller Crossed has finished postproduction, and unveiled a new poster designed by actor/producer Javier Rodriguez. He’s now setting up festival screenings and gearing up to break the movie on the 2009 festival circuit.
“After all the years, hard work, blood, sweat and tears that were put into the production, it’s extremely thrilling to sit back and finally watch it all unfold on the screen,” Hadjicharalambous tells us. “I have waited since the beginning of production for the day I can sit back with a bag of popcorn and a soda and watch Crossed on the big screen. It’s exciting and mind-boggling that this day has finally come. I’m very proud of what the hardworking cast and crew and myself have created on screen. We all set out to make a hardcore, no-holds-barred action-thriller, packed with unforgettable twists and turns,...
