This was a very funny episode and certainly in line with the Thanksgiving Holiday.
When Mrs. Davis buys practically nothing for the holiday since she claims that she can't afford it, Miss Brooks attempts to get herself invited to various Thanksgiving dinners only to have her attempts backfire as those people come to her and Mrs. Davis instead.
Gale Gordon steals the episode by his commanding presence, and directing organization of the guests in setting up the table, utensils and food. He acts just like the old fashioned principals with his dictatorial offers.
The ending is hilarious when the Conklins walk by the mission where they had given their turkey to only to see Boynton there eating and Brooks banging a drum as we often see at mission centers.
