Swedish Public Service (SVT) withdrew support from the project only months before its release, citing lack of quality and unsatisfying amount of material as main reasons. The studio (SF) instead claimed the disagreement was due to budget concerns. Rival broadcaster TV4 stepped in as co-financier.
The loom briefly seen at the end was an authentic loom from medieval times. It cost the production 300.000 Swedish crowns to transport from Germany to Sweden for use in the film.
On 21 June 2007, executive producer Johan Mardell confirmed that the film ran over budget during production.
