Since 2021, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin of Crime have shown up in various MCU TV shows.
We've seen the Man Without Fear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo, with Wilson Fisk appearing in the latter and Hawkeye. However, these two haven't shared the screen since Daredevil wrapped up on Netflix six years ago.
That's set to change in Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again and, in an interview with TV Insider, D'Onofrio revealed that the revival originally featured no significant links to Daredevil.
"It originally wasn’t going to be at all, but now it’s a lot," the actor said of crossovers between the two. Cox chimed in to say there's now "a lot" of them, presumably meaning Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, Bullseye, and The Punisher were M.I.A. in the previous iteration of Born Again.

By the time Agatha All Along lands on Disney+ this September, it will have been several years since the WandaVision spinoff formally began brewing at the streamer. Understandably, then, it’s “very surreal” for series star Kathryn Hahn to at last be promoting the series ahead of its fall release.
“It really is a very surreal chapter that’s starting for us,” Hahn told TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich on the red carpet at Disney’s Upfront presentation on Tuesday. “It’s finally coming home to roost that we got to do this, that we got to do it with this group of people,...

St. Vincent’s seventh studio album, All Born Screaming, has arrived.
Described by St. Vincent’s Annie Clark as a “post-plague pop” album about “heaven and hell — the metaphorical kinds,” All Born Screaming was first announced this past February, and was preceded by its singles, “Broken Man,” “Flea,” and “Big Time Nothing.”
Get St. Vincent Tickets Here
The album’s full tracklist spans 10 songs, and includes contributions from exciting collaborators like Dave Grohl, Josh Freese, Cate Le Bon (who features on the title track), and more.
One poignant moment is the song “Sweetest Fruit,” which was partially inspired by the legacy and death of Sophie, who Clark “never met,” but was “an admirer from afar,” according to a recent interview. Stream All Born Screaming in its entirety below.
Meanwhile, Clark is gearing up for her 2024 tour, which kicks off in May and will bring her to cities like San Francisco,...

Lana shocked the Coachella crowd Friday night by bringing out Camila Cabello for an energy-shifting performance of her hyper pop single “I Luv It.”
“This is my girl. I have so much fun with her. I love this song to death,” Del Rey said after coquettishly repeating the song’s chorus early in her set. “Thank you so much angel for coming to sing with me.”
”This is an honor me, you’re one of my favorite artists of all time. Thank you so much,” Cabello replied.

If Criterion24/7 hasn’t completely colonized your attention every time you open the Channel––this is to say: if you’re stronger than me––their May lineup may be of interest. First and foremost I’m happy to see a Michael Roemer triple-feature: his superlative Nothing But a Man, arriving in a Criterion Edition, and the recently rediscovered The Plot Against Harry and Vengeance is Mine, three distinct features that suggest a long-lost voice of American movies. Meanwhile, Nobuhiko Obayashi’s Antiwar Trilogy four by Sara Driver, and a wide collection from Ayoka Chenzira fill out the auteurist sets.
Series-wise, a highlight of 1999 goes beyond the well-established canon with films like Trick and Bye Bye Africa, while of course including Sofia Coppola, Michael Mann, Scorsese, and Claire Denis. Films starring Shirley Maclaine, a study of 1960s paranoia, and Columbia’s “golden era” (read: 1950-1961) are curated; meanwhile, The Breaking Ice,...

A scene from ‘Sting’ (Photo Courtesy of Well Go USA Entertainment)
From Arachnophobia to Itsy Bitsy, from Tarantula to Abyssal Spider, killer spider movies have always been in style. But there’s something special about the newest eight-legged offering, Sting. Sting is everything that’s amazing about creature features.
Sting is about a young girl named Charlotte (Alyla Browne from the unfortunate Children of the Corn remake) who spends her time drawing comics and creeping into her neighbors’ apartments by crawling through the apartment building’s air ducts. One day while doing the latter, she comes across a cute little spider which she takes home and names Sting – not after the rock star or the wrestler, but after the short sword in The Hobbit. Yes, Charlotte is a dork.
But Sting isn’t a normal, run-of-the-mill spider. It’s an alien spider that crashed on Earth in a meteorite. First,...

Oliver Stone lived his heyday as one of the most celebrated directors in Hollywood with his acclaimed titles, including Wall Street and Kevin Costner-starrer JFK. Stone, who also has two Oscars to his credit for directing Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July, however, found himself amid an investigation.

From The Beef to The Boss – Jeremy Allen White might be stepping into the shoes of one of music’s all-time-greats. In recent years, the actor has received considerable acclaim for his central role in The Bear, following it up with wrestling hit The Iron Claw, and a Calvin Klein campaign that sent the internet into meltdown. And while The Bear is back in production on Season 3, White may next be set to play none other than Bruce Springsteen.
Reports indicate that White is in talks for the role in Deliver Me From Nowhere – not a full-on Bruce biopic, but a film specifically zoning in on the creation of his 1982 album Nebraska. Released as Springsteen’s fame was rocketing – it landed between smash double-album The River, and hit-packed behemoth Born In The USA – Nebraska was a total change of pace for the musician, a stripped-down acoustic album recorded on 4-track,...

Jeremy Allen White is looking to start dancing in the dark, as the Emmy-winning actor is eyeing the starring role of Bruce Springsteen in a feature biopic.
White is in talks to play the rock superstar in Deliver Me From Nowhere, which also has A24 circling. Based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 book of the same name, the movie is set to focus on the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album, Nebraska.
Scott Cooper is adapting the script with plans to direct. Gotham Group is behind the project, which counts Eric Robinson and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein as producers. Former Netflix film head Scott Stuber is also involved in the screen version of Deliver Me From Nowhere.
Springsteen is a music icon known as “The Boss” and continues to draw rapt audiences with his legendary live performances. Nebraska was Springsteen’s sixth studio album and released two years before his smash Born in the U.

Exclusive: In his first major film project since leaving as Netflix Film boss, Scott Stuber has teamed with Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein & Eric Robinson to make a film about The Boss. Scott Cooper is writing to direct Deliver Me from Nowhere, a narrative feature about Bruce Springsteen and the long effort to put together his seminal 1982 album Nebraska, which started to take shape as he and the E Street Band were laying down tracks for his massive hit album Born in the USA. It’s an adaptation of the Warren Zanes book published last year.
The Bear star Jeremy Allen White is top choice to play Springsteen, and talks are underway with A24 to make the movie. Negotiations haven’t begun with the actor, who would head to New Jersey for a fall shoot after the Emmy winner finishes Season 4 of The Bear in June.

Did anybody call for a lawyer?
We can barely contain our excitement about the news that Disney+ is bringing back Daredevil in a bid to reignite the character for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The glimpses of Matt Murdock that we got on Echo and Spiderman: No Way Home were great, but we have missed this tortured, hopeless do-gooder and his heart of gold.
At the risk of sounding like a superfan (guilty), this Marvel nerd has faithfully watched everything that has led up to this moment, hoping for an eventual Daredevil return.
Now that it's actually happening, there's a lot to cover -- let's dive in.

Exclusive: Having successfully adapted The Summer I Turned Pretty books into the popular Prime Video YA series, Wiip is aiming to do the same with another YA title. The independent studio has acquired Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ novel Little White Lies, to develop for television.
Like the breakout first season of Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, Little White Lies takes place over a debutante season.
It is a mystery series about a teenager from the wrong side of the tracks who agrees to move in with her estranged maternal grandmother and do a debutante year, but only because she’s determined to figure out which scion of Southern high society is her biological father.
Wiip’s Paul Lee, Mark Roybal, and Nate Winslow will executive produce alongside Barnes and A Star Is Born executive producer Heather Parry, who brought the project to the studio.

Daredevil: Born Again will greatly contrast its original Netflix series. As new reports and theories indicate, the upcoming MCU show for Disney+ may have events beyond what the predecessor series had not dared to attempt.
Charlie Cox as Daredevil in She-Hulk
Also, the show is expected to be darker and grittier. As the show’s episodes are being filmed, reports indicate that the new show may witness the saddest MCU death in recent times. It could be very hard for the MCU fans.
SUGGESTEDLeaked Video From Daredevil: Born Again Set Confirms MCU Appearances of Two Major Marvel Characters
Plotting Big, Marvel Is Likely To Kill Off Two Prominent Characters
Foggy Nelson and Karen Page with Matt Murdock in Netflix’s Daredevil
Marvel Studios may have been gambling with characters as they have reportedly shifted their focus to Daredevil’s feud with Kingpin more than anything. However, there will not just be one villain.

Streaming giant Netflix on Tuesday confirmed expansion of starry Korean cast in the popular Korean series ‘Squid Game’ Season 2. The second season sees Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo reprise their roles as protagonist and antagonist survivors of the bloody elimination game, reports ‘Variety’.
The new story “will follow Gi-hun as he abandons his plans to go to the US and starts a chase with a motive”, said Netflix in Korea.
Earlier photographs from Season 2 showed Lee’s Gi-hyun character with hair dyed beetroot red, reports ‘Variety’.
The company confirmed that Hwang Dong-hyuk, who became the first Asian to win outstanding directing for a drama series at the Primetime Emmy’s, is also re-set as director, writer, and producer and that production is through Firstman Studio.

Daredevil: Born Again? More like Daredevil on Netflix: Born Again!
When Disney announced the MCU TV series Daredevil: Born Again, the studio played coy about the show’s relationship to the Netflix series that preceded it. Yes, Charlie Cox would once again play blind lawyer turned protector of Hell’s Kitchen Matt Murdock, and Vincent D’Onofrio would return as his enemy Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of Crime.
At first, the distinction made sense. While Daredevil remained strong, especially through its third season, shows such as Iron Fist and The Defenders suffered from stories stretched thin and lackluster performances. Furthermore, the show’s rough violence and sexuality made them a poor fit with the MCU’s soft PG-13 aesthetic.
However, with each month, it seems more and more like Daredevil: Born Again will be a direct continuation of the Netflix shows. Not...

Bradley Cooper’s Net Worth & Unimaginable Salary Hike (Picture Credit: IMDb)
Bradley Cooper is grabbing a lot of headlines these days for his character in Maestro getting nominated for the best hair and makeup at the Academy Awards 2024. The star plays Leonard Bernstein in the biographical musical romantic drama whose success has made his net worth jump by a considerable amount since the last. From $100 million in 2023, he is already a man worth $120 million in 2024.
For the unversed, when Maestro was released, it was surrounded by a lot of controversies, with the MCU actor using a prosthetic nose in the film. In fact, at one point in time, Leonard Bernstein’s children had to defend the actor who played their father on-screen.
Now, Maestro getting a nomination at the Oscars for the very category that created such a stir is like redeeming its glory and life coming full circle. Coming...

With the release of Marvel’s Spotlight project ‘Echo’ several Marvel-based shows have “officially” become canon to the MCU continuity and were added to the MCU timeline. Of course, we are referring to The Defenders Saga. The Defenders Saga, also known as Street-Level Heroes and Marvel Knights, is a collection of Marvel Television series initially distributed on Netflix. Centered on the New York City vigilantes within the MCU, the saga commenced with the first season of ‘Daredevil’ and concluded with the third season of ‘Jessica Jones.’
Now, the fact that some details from ‘Daredevil’ appeared in ‘Echo’ was proof enough that Marvel Studios is ready to acknowledge these projects as canon to the MCU, despite ignoring the events that took place in pretty much all mainline movies and series released since.
Fans were already wondering whether ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ would make the first three seasons of ‘Daredevil’ canon, until it...

Marvel’s ‘Echo’ project has officially integrated several Marvel-based shows into the MCU continuity and timeline, including The Defenders Saga. Initially released on Netflix, The Defenders Saga, also known as Street-Level Heroes and Marvel Knights, focuses on New York City vigilantes within the MCU, beginning with ‘Daredevil’ season one and concluding with ‘Jessica Jones’ season three.
The inclusion of details from ‘Daredevil’ in ‘Echo’ suggests Marvel Studios’ willingness to recognize these projects as part of the MCU canon despite previous events being disregarded in mainline movies and series. Fans had speculated about the canonical status of the first three seasons of ‘Daredevil’ in ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ However, with the recent announcement that ‘Born Again’ will be a reboot featuring a new creative team and significant rewriting, the current status of the show remains uncertain – whether it will be a reboot or a continuation.

Even though Charlie Cox, who played the Marvel Comics character Matt Murdock / Daredevil on the Daredevil series that was made for the Netflix streaming service (and is now available on Disney+) has since reprised the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Vincent D’Onofrio also reprised the role of the villainous Wilson Fisk / Kingpin in the Hawkeye series, it hasn’t been clear whether or not that Daredevil show would really be considered part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity. When the eighteen episode MCU / Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again went into production with Cox and D’Onofrio in the lead roles, it was apparently branching off in directions that wouldn’t exactly match what had been seen in the Netflix show. But then the writers strike hit, causing Daredevil: Born Again to stop filming for a while… and during the break, Marvel executives watched the...

Horror is iterative, but it just as regularly moves through the same cycles decade after decade, ostensibly breaking new ground, when in reality, the genre is simply doing what is has always done. Today's horror landscape, for as remarkable and diverse as it is, is principally a landscape of legacy sequels. The horror of yesterday is new again, and commonly, old faces and names are dredged up to headline the latest nostalgic bloodbath. Reasonably, the present iteration could be decried as Hollywood's lack of originality, though seasoned horror veterans have seen this cycle before.
The early aughts were replete with imported horrors. Hollywood studios regularly borrowed transnational scares, repackaged them, and presented them as the next big thing. They were successful, too. Gore Verbinski's "The Ring," a remake of Hideo Nakata's "Ring," grossed nearly $250 million when released in 2002. Hollywood studios also remade the likes of "A Tale of Two Sisters,...

Spoilers for "Echo" follow.
It wouldn't be a Marvel Studios production without a post-credits stinger. Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) limps back home to New York City. As fate would have it, the jet's television is playing a new broadcast about the NYC mayor's race, with the subhead "No Clear Frontrunner."
Fisk turns up the volume and hears a panelist recounting polls that show most NYC voters' "ideal candidate [is] somebody who is a fighter." The host adds, "There are legitimate problems in the city right now — the voters want somebody who understands the pain they're going through," and the panelist replies, "A bare-knuckled brawler would do well in this race, an outsider, somebody who is not afraid to take on the establishment." However, as they lament, no such candidate has emerged and the race is in its last legs.
This commentary plays over a slow zoom-in on Fisk's face,...

“American Born Chinese” has been canceled after one season at Disney+, Variety has learned.
According to an individual with knowledge of the decision, Disney was high on the creative of the series, but its viewership did not justify greenlighting a second season. The producers plan to shop the series to other outlets.
“American Born Chinese” debuted on Disney+ on May. The Disney Branded Television series was based on the graphic novel of the same name by Gene Luen Yang. The cast of the series included Ben Wang, Michelle Yeoh, Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, Jimmy Liu, Ke Huy Quan, Sydney Taylor, and Daniel Wu. The show received positive reviews from critics, with the first season holding a 94% approval rating based on 51 reviews.

Disney+ is not proceeding with a second season of Disney Branded Television/20th Television’s action fantasy series American Born Chinese, which stars Oscar winners Ke Huy Quan and Michelle Yeoh.

This article contains The Exorcist: Believer spoilers.
For nearly 20 years, author and screenwriter William Peter Blatty hated the ending of The Exorcist (1973) so much that he could barely speak with its director, William Friedkin. This would have likely struck many as odd considering the film faithfully adapted Blatty’s novel of the same name, and Blatty’s contribution to the work as screenwriter won him an Oscar. But the theatrical ending of that film was made so downbeat by its director—with Father Dyer (William O’Malley) looking at the staircase which stole the life of his best friend Father Karras (Jason Miller)—that many interpreted it as Dyer and the film were thinking none of this was worth it. For years afterward, Blatty was horrified when he encountered moviegoers who told him the Devil won.
Eventually, the director and screenwriter reconciled when the more upbeat and life-affirming final scene...

If you’re looking forward to Daredevil: Born Again, one reason could be that you aren’t losing out on any royalties. Steven DeKnight, who served as showrunner for the original Daredevil series’ first season, is coming after Disney for their rebranding of the character and property, saying it’s a “scam” .
DeKnight’s take on the Daredevil reboot comes from a post on X (formerly Twitter) by a grip, who is also a member of the union IATSE. “And not only did they cancel Daredevil once crew got full raise and holiday/vacation pay…. The Disney+ reboot is back to season one IATSE contract terms. It’s a fucking scam. I wonder if @stevendeknight knows that!”
To this, Steven DeKnight responded, “He does. It’s an old Disney scam where they slightly rename a series to reset contract terms back to first season. Needs to be addressed by all the guilds/unions and crushed!

“Born This Way” has long been recognized as an LGBT anthem, but its writer Lady Gaga doubled-down on its empowering message Thursday night (August 31st), specifically dedicating it to her transgender audience.
Mother Monster just kicked off her “Lady Gaga Jazz & Piano” residency in Las Vegas, which includes some jazz standards as well as jazz-ified versions of Gaga hits. Right before she tore into “Born This Way,” she spoke out against recent attacks on trans rights in the US.
“I’ve got something to say about trans rights in this country,” she said as she started the tune. “You got something to say, you gotta speak up right?”
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, but was quick to quiet down once Gaga began her triumphant piano chords. She let the pointed lyrics of “Born This Way” do most of the talking, but added a few words before wrapping up the song: “You know,...

Most recently, Top Gun: Maverick was also up for a Best Picture award. Still, despite these nominations, Cruise has left the ceremony empty-handed every time. But that...

Venice Film Festival head Alberto Barbera spoke with Deadline soon after revealing his latest stellar lineup, including movies from David Fincher, Michael Mann, Bradley Cooper, Pablo Larrain, Sofia Coppola, Yorgos Lanthimos and Ava DuVernay.
Despite the challenge of two Hollywood strikes, the 80th edition of the world’s oldest film festival is shaping up to be a memorable occasion, full of talking points and discoveries.
The festival was dealt a blow last week when MGM and Amazon pulled Zendaya starrer Challengers from its opening-night slot due to the strike. But that wasn’t the cue for a studio and streamer exodus. Instead, Barbera said today that Challengers was the only movie to pull out of the festival.

The original ‘Daredevil’ series ran for three seasons on Netflix between 2015 and 2018. The series was critically acclaimed, and many superhero fans still consider it one of the best superhero shows ever made. The series followed the blind titular character, played by Charlie Cox, and his adventures as a lawyer during the day and the Man Without Fear at night.
The series finished its run on Netflix after Disney brought the rights back to Marvel Studios. The fans started a large social media campaign to save the series, and their prayers were ultimately answered in July 2022 at San Diego Comic-Con when the Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced a new series, ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ with Cox set to return and Vincent D’Onofrio reprising the role of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.
A new rumor might explain why Foggy Nelson and Karen Page won’t return in the upcoming series!
