- With everyone having a Sunday off - something recommended by psychologist Dr. Heightmeyer - all of the members of the Atlantis team pursue leisure activities. Rodney McKay and Carson Beckett are scheduled to go fishing; Sheppard decides to teach Ronon Dex about golf; Teyla spends some time in the gym; and Elizabeth Weir has a lunch date with the handsome Mike Branton. Their day off however is interrupted by a powerful explosion near the mess hall killing and injuring several members of the team. McKay thinks he knows the cause of the problem - a device found by two junior members of his team may have turned some of them into walking time bombs by creating explosive tumors in them.—garykmcd
- Complex flashbacks show how a lazy Sunday off, recommended by psychologist Dr. Heightmeyer for the Atlantis team, went really wrong. Teyla fibs to get out of a golf lesson Sheppard planned for her and Ronon, who proves a one handed natural, yet not interested. Weir pulls out of a date with studly Mike Branton, fearing 'distraction'. McKay dodged his promise to go fishing with Carson by faking a date with Dr. Katie Brown, but finds out she also likes him 'very much'. Lorne is painting Atlantis. One of two junior scientists McKay lectured for thoughtlessly turning on, but quickly back off, an unknown machine in an Ancient lab, explodes without an explosives, damages a tower floor. McKay discovers it's an abandoned Ancient weapon research, which gave both explosive tumors. Carson is operating on the other, but locks himself in rather than evacuate and give up his patient, pulls off the surgery before it explodes, but is killed by it.—KGF Vissers
