It's time for a bit of "man, it's a small world" news! We were sent the first info and an exclusive still from Jonathan Blitstein's independent horror feature Another Kind. Looking over the information, it appears that Blitstein grew up in the same area, and went to the same high school as both Tom (Blueteamno) and myself. I love when stuff like this happens! Anyways, Another Kind is a psychological science-fiction thriller, written and directed by Blitstein (Let Them Chirp Awhile), which wrapped shooting earlier this month in the Catskill Mountains. "'Another Kind' is about four unprepared hikers from New York City on a winter camping expedition in the Catskills. The Cut was filmed on one continuous shot - how was that, going through an entire feature-length film without any cuts? Was it draining?
Coming over on the plane, I was convinced I had signed up to an basically impossible task. And I was kind of freaking out, thinking what have I got myself into. But then when we started rehearsing, I realised that everyone had their lines down pretty quickly, and that it's really just like doing a play in the theatre. Then when ran it, and ran it over and then again. So by the time we did the first recording on camera, it was actually about 85 percent there. And so then you've got the cast and crew going "wow, maybe we actually got a shot at doing this." So then the first or second time we tried, we got a useable take. Then I think everyone relaxed,...

Cinematical has received this exclusive clip from the film Let Them Chirp Awhile, directed by Jonathan Blitstein, and starring a pretty impressive cast of indie talent like Justin Rice (Mutual Appreciation), Brendan Sexton III (Welcome to the Dollhouse), Zach Galligan (Gremlins) and Anthony Rapp (Dazed and Confused).
From the synopsis: "Let Them Chirp Awhile follows three twentysomething artists as they juggle their careers, relationships and emotions in New York City. Bobby (Rice) is a struggling screenwriter who tries to get romantically involved with a woman by agreeing to take care of her dog. His friend Scott (Sexton III) is a depressed, womanizing musician with a sweet and innocent girlfriend while Hart, (Galligan) Bobby's nemesis, is a successful playwright whose campy play about 9/11 has won awards and a run at an off-Broadway theater. What begins as a quirky comedy about relationships and writer's block becomes a coming-of-age tale about competition and self-reliance among the "me-generation.
