Chuck Jones's so-called "hunter trilogy":
Rabbit Fire (1951) (1951),
Rabbit Seasoning (1952) (1952) and
Duck! Rabbit, Duck! (1953) (1953). These are the three films that feature Bugs, Daffy and Elmer all in one cartoon. They all have similar plots. Daffy tries to convince Elmer, the hunter, to shoot Bugs. Bugs remains cool and invariably turns the situation to his advantage. In each cartoon, Elmer repeatedly shoots Daffy - often because Bugs has tricked Daffy into demanding to be shot. Verbal trickery reigns. In Rabbit Seasoning Daffy calls it "pronoun trouble." Whatever you call it, Bugs is the master; Daffy is the victim.
