Don Beech is tasked with looking after a very grumpy Jim Carver, the pair are tasked with looking at a series of trashed cars at a garage, the pair get embroiled in a turf war.
Another very, very strong episode, a cracking story with some very good characters, and a great set of antics at CID. However it's the brilliant Don Beech that makes this so good, he's such an old rogue, he's loaded with charisma, and even in this early stage, you know he's trouble, such a good actor though.
Jim is wonderfully dour and po faced throughout, I like the Carver and Beech team.
Very nicely produced, the scenes at the races look great, and they seemed to have damaged lots of pretty valuable cars here. We have definitely seen that green Supercat recently.
Philip Martin Brown is cracking here as the villain of the piece, he's a really good actor, perfectly cast as something nasty.
Very good, 8/10.
