- [first lines]
- Joey Ice Cream: [narrating] Where have you been that you don't know this? I was the only one that knew it was Tommy that ran over Jimmy's leg. But Tommy never let himself forget it. And he never stole a car again.
- Sean Donnelly: [about Sean's new car] Hey, hey, hey. What do you think?
- Tommy Donnelly: You pay money for this thing?
- Sean Donnelly: Yeah, two thousand, got a great deal.
- Tommy Donnelly: Dollars?
- Sean Donnelly: Plus, he gave me a free driver's license.
- Tommy Donnelly: Mrs. McCready, I can't help you.
- Mrs. McCready: But your Dad cared about people.
- Tommy Donnelly: [sharply] What?
- Mrs. McCready: Your Father would never turn his back on a friend. I'm sorry for you that you never learned that from him.
- Joey Ice Cream: We turned The Firecracker into the hottest place in town.
- Father Dufelt: [interrupting] Joey!
- Joey Ice Cream: What?
- Father Dufelt: I've lived in the neighborhood forty years. And I still live there. The Firecracker's, The Firecracker.
- Joey Ice Cream: [back pedaling after being caught in the lie] Oh, yeah. No, uh it wasn't The Firecracker at all. It was this other place I was thinking about, we took over a long time after.
- Father Dufelt: Took over?
- Joey Ice Cream: I mean bought.
- Sean Donnelly: [referring to The Firecracker, wanting Kevin to get to work] Come on, Kevin. Have a little pride. This is the family business, here.
- Kevin Donnelly: Crime is the family business, Sean. This is just a staging area.
- Sean Donnelly: I'm calling Jimmy.
- Kevin Donnelly: What are you Tommy now? Gimme the phone!
- Sean Donnelly: You gonna get that stock for me?
- [Kevin gets up and reaches for the bar phone. He begins to dial]
- Sean Donnelly: What are you doing?
- Kevin Donnelly: Calling Mom. Figure she'd like to know you're not planning on going back to school.
- [Sean gives in and hands Kevin back the phone]
- Jimmy Donnelly: Maybe we could go out sometime. Go see a movie, get a beer.
- Jenny Reilly: What are you doing, Jimmy?
- Jimmy Donnelly: I'm asking you out.
- Jenny Reilly: You're such a jerk.
- Tommy Donnelly: [upon being told Mrs. McCready is a drug dealer] You're a liar.
- Jimmy Donnelly: Yeah, you're right. I'm lying. Probably not, but the same old Mrs. McCready who lives in the apartment 2C in the old flats. 'Cause if you kicked some gangster ass for that old bitch, that'd be the jackass move of the month.
- Jenny's Pop: [to Jimmy] You're a real prince. Get the hell out of my diner!
- [Jimmy punches him]
- Jenny's Pop: .
- Jenny Reilly: We're not gonna give you a nickel! Not ever!
- Jimmy Donnelly: Wake up! Someone always gets paid. From now on, it's gonna be me.
- Joey Ice Cream: [narrating] Now I know Jimmy may have seemed like an ass. Excuse me, Father. It's just that it's hard not to behave like an ass, when you've been betrayed.
- Kate Farrell: [on the phone] Hi, it's Kate. Can I speak to Tommy?
- Kevin Donnelly: [to Kate] Yeah, hold on. I'll see if he's here.
- [barely covers phone and asks Tommy who is lying in bed]
- Kevin Donnelly: It's Kate. You wanna talk to her?
- Tommy Donnelly: Nice, Kevin. Like she doesn't really know I'm here now.
- Tommy Donnelly: You extorting money from Jenny? From her Father?
- Jimmy Donnelly: It's business, Tommy. It's the habit.
- Joey Ice Cream: [narrating] Jimmy loved Tommy more than anybody. But see, once you've been betrayed by somebody you love... you're capable of anything.
- Derek 'Dokey' Farrell: How old are you, Reilly?
- Jenny's Pop: What's my age have to do with anything?
- Derek 'Dokey' Farrell: 'Cause you're way too old to be playing the hero.
