Edgy drama

Set in an idyllic part of Denmark, this short couldn't help but draw one in. The adult and one teen leads are convincing in their rôles too, which also helps. The script emphasised the differences between the adults too. At one point it was clear that Thomas's father was not as keen on the gay angle as his wife and he got miffed about it at one point.

As the three summers pass, relationships change and so do people's motivations and desires. Jørgen's face is a picture as Thomas calls for a toast.

I've read reviews elsewhere criticising this piece for there having been a relationship between a teen and an older guy. The film emphasises, however, the normal course of things - it's the younger guy who makes the running while the adult hangs back.

So, good acting, intriguing story, great setting. What's not to like?

about friendship

Warning: Spoilers
a man . his friend family. theirs boy. and a special friendship. a story who could be perceived by different angles. as a gay story ( in fact only an episode), as a picture of frustrations, a Nordic life fragment in which not only the air is cold but the souls too. so, a film about a man and the people around him. and about a refuge in the friendship with a boy. so, a story about solitude. and the looking for happiness.
