This is a documentary that tries to capture the magic behind Elvis Presley's famed sessions at Sun Studios in Memphis. Rare footage and photos of Elvis' early years after moving from Tupelo, Mississippi. There are contributions from childhood friends, Elvis biographers and others who have since made a study in depth of those pivotal recording sessions. Elvis didn't exactly invent rock 'n' roll, but damn sure gave it a face and embodiment. The recordings for Sun Records came from a passion for all types of music that Elvis grew up with. This film features clips from Elvis' early TV appearances and the musical highlight being "My Happiness", the earliest taped song surviving from Elvis' first visit to Sam Phillips' little studio on Union. Other featured tunes from the Sun sessions include: "That's All Right", "You're A Heartbreaker", "Blue Moon of Kentucky", "Good Rockin' Tonight" and "I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine". This will delight and be of interest to any Elvis fan; and for anyone that really has an honest concern about the iconic music that sounded nothing like what came before it.
