- Rick Hunter: [to himself] I don't understand what's happening to our world, Minmei, or what's going to become of us, but your safety and well-being makes it all worthwhile to me.
- Rick Hunter: Oh, brother. Some ace.
- Nurse: Huh?
- Rick Hunter: Will I live?
- Nurse: Hmm. According to the medical report, the doctor says you got a bad bump. I think you'd better plan on being our guest for a while, Lieutenant, at least until we get the results of your tests back from the lab.
- Rick Hunter: How come?
- Nurse: So the doctors can experiment. They want to find out if it's true that pilots' heads are made out of granite.
- Rick Hunter: Very funny.
- Nurse: Cheer up, Lieutenant Hunter. You'll be out of here before you know it. I got rounds to do.
- Rick Hunter: Oh, hi, Lisa. What brings you here this fine morning?
- Lisa: I'm sorry, Rick. Commander Fokker is dead.
- Rick Hunter: Commander Fokker is...
- Lisa: He's dead.
- Rick Hunter: [stunned] What?
- Lisa: He was wounded... and lost too much blood.
- Rick Hunter: [still in shock, drops the toy plane he's holding] Big brother... my big brother's dead...
- [last lines]
- Sammie Porter: It looks to me like you're playing with a Minmei doll.
- Rico: I don't know what you mean?
- Sammie Porter: It's just that I've never seen a grown man playing with a doll before now.
- Rico: Well, what's wrong with that?
- Sammie Porter: You're just too old for that.
- Bron: Adults don't do it?
- Sammie Porter: You silly man! Only kids play with dolls.
- Lisa: Hello, Rick. I came to say that I'm sorry.
- Rick Hunter: You... you came up here to apologize? To apologize for what, for Pete's sake?
- Lisa: [sighs] For your being in here. We both know that it was my instructions that were responsible for your being seriously injured.
- Rick Hunter: Lisa, you weren't responsible. I have no one to blame for this but myself. I'm here because I made a mistake in judgment and for no other reason, okay?
- Lisa: Thanks for your generosity.
- Rick Hunter: What's happened to that old command confidence? This isn't like you at all.
- Lisa: No, Lieutenant Hunter, I don't suppose it is at that. Anyway, I said what I came to say. Now I have to get back to my duties on the bridge. Get well.
- Rick Hunter: Thanks, Lisa. Will you come see me again?
- Lisa: I don't think so, Lieutenant. I'll be too busy.
- [exits]
- Rick Hunter: Huh.
- [looks at the flowers]
- Rick Hunter: Hmm.
- Roy Fokker: Hi there, buddy, how goes it?
- Rick Hunter: Hi, big brother!
- Roy Fokker: Hey, what gives, can't you keep out of trouble? Here, this is for you.
- Ben Dixon: Hey guys, listen to this. It's Minmei on the radio! Can you believe it?
- Rick Hunter: [turns the radio off] Aw, can it!
- Ben Dixon: What's the matter?
- Rick Hunter: I just like it quiet, all right?
- Ben Dixon: Absolutely! Anything you say, skipper. You're the boss, okay?
- Roy Fokker: So tell me something, you big loafer. When are you gonna quit playing the invalid and get back to work?
- Rick Hunter: Believe me, right now I'm not playing, Roy.
- Max Sterling: What you need is a visit from someone like Minmei to come over and give you a command performance right here!
- [He looks at Rick and quickly clamps a hand over his mouth]
- Max Sterling: Oh...
- Rick Hunter: I don't imagine Minmei is very much interested in a washout like me.
- Ben Dixon: Well, you could try introducing her to a certified flying ace like myself, Lieutenant.
- [laughs]
- Rick Hunter: [angrily] How about a punch in the nose?
- Roy Fokker: Easy there, tiger. I'm sure Ben didn't mean anything by it.
- [to Ben]
- Roy Fokker: Come on, ace, before you make his condition any worse. Right this way.
- [to Rick]
- Roy Fokker: Glad to see you're okay, kid.
