"Area 57" is a pilot for a rejected television series. It can be found on YouTube. It stars Matthew Lillard as Colonel Isaac...a man who has been selected for a very special mission. It seems that an alien was captured 40 years ago and he's in Air Force custody...and Isaac is going to be working with his alien (Paul Reubens). The problem is that the more time Isaac spends with 'it', the more he comes to realize that the alien is a really annoying jerk.
In some ways, this show is similar to "Alf" but without a puppet and with the alien being even more annoying. It might have been fun to see where this could have gone had the series been approved. Interesting...and never dull...this is worth a look.
