Spectacular irony
amjp13 September 2009
It seems the writers and the producer for this movie did not do their homework. The actor Zulu reprises his role as Detective Kono Kalakaua. We have not seen Kono since the fourth season in the TV Series. His character was dropped. The biggest irony of them all is that Kam Fong reprises his role as Detective Chin Ho Kelly. Detective Chin Ho Kelly was killed off the show at the end of the tenth season, in the episode: "A Death in the Family". This oversight is inexcusable. Hawaii Five-O was known casting the same actors in different roles among different episodes. Surely Kam Fong could have been cast for another role in this movie. Danny Williams was best suited as a detective with Five-O, but his character was dropped at the end of the eleventh season. The actor Richard Denning was best suited for the role of governor as Paul Jameson. This was a movie came out too late after the end of the TV series. Hawaii Five-O is never the same without Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett and is surely missed from this movie.
