Peyton Manning wins the big one!
blanbrn28 February 2007
Super Bowl XLI played in rainy south Florida on Feb. 4, 2007 wasn't one of the great ones, but really a game that proved with teamwork a superstar QB can win it all. The game appeared explosive as the opening kickoff was returned 92 yards for a TD by the Bears rookie star Devin Hester, but that would not destroy the Colts as they kept their game plan together. All thru the game the Colts defense would rattle Rex Grossman into mistakes and turnovers, and Manning would be accurate and complete throws against the cover 2 d of the bears. Peyton's final numbers weren't great(25 of 38, 247 yards, one touchdown) even though he got MVP honors, the running game of Indy helped him along. RB's Joseph Addai and Dominic Rhodes carried the load. As Rhodes had 21 carries for 113 yards and Addai combined for 143 rushing and receiving yards. Indy would cruise and control the clock and go on to a 29-17 final. Overall an all right super bowl, in a steady rain but yet it couldn't rain on Peyton's parade as he finally won the big one!
