During a scene between Bennet, Parkman and Sprague in a diner towards the end of the episode, Bennet comments that they (the diner) do "fine cherry pie". This is a quite clearly a reference to the famous diner of Twin Peaks (1990), who also specialized in "damn fine cherry pie".
In the scene where Mr. Linderman shows Nathan his vault, there's a pencil drawn painting of Niki/Jessica with a split face, to show two personalities.
This episode's elliptical title refers to the population wipeout of New York City in the event of a nuclear blast in relation to the world's entire population.
