Eye-opening; fascinating; and very interesting!!

I was fortunate to catch this film at the Buddhist Film Festival in Montana a few months ago. What a great film...and with all that's going on, it's absolutely current. The film features the Dalai Lama and other religious leaders. It's about religious tolerance and very fascinating, really makes you think... Paula, who made this film, was inside the madrassas, religious schools in Muslim villages..... She used to work in Pakistan, Kashmir, was in Afghanistan, and personally experienced being trapped in a religious riot... One Muslim leader showed her how Jesus, Mary are mentioned in the Koran... I learned so much about Islam, Tolerance, intolerance....and much more. Not that I knew or know much about religion to begin with, but this sure was a big eye-opener in many ways. The film is So great for the world today...I mean, it's as if this was created for today's happenings...

I heard that the Dalai Lama is getting the Congressional Gold Medal for his work on religious tolerance in mid October in Washington, DC.... He is the main character in the film, advises us how to deal with the issue...I wish I could be there and meet him (I never really thought about wanting to meet the DL, but after seeing this doc film, I would like to meet him...If possible. I think this film will come to the theater's later this year, if I remember this right...it's def. well worth seeing...no matter what one believes...It will make you think, that's all I can say...

How fascinating that the Dalai Lama and Martin Luther King both learned non-violent methods of protest from Mahatma Gandhi! This film really examines the age old problems of religious conflict, and offers great solutions. The trips into Madrassas makes Not in God Name so interesting. To hear people of so many faiths sharing the same sentiments about peace in our world, and share the same values, makes this film important for everyone to see. The cinematography and music is gorgeous! This film is great for education, community discussion and families. It has been shown on PBS stations, and I highly recommend this film!

What wonderful insight!

Throughout history, sadly, endless wars have been waged in the name of God. Yet worshiping the divine is our birthright. There are many faces of God in many paths to the inner self as represented in this beautiful Film.

Going into the Madrassas, interviewing Mother Theresa and the Dalai Lama about tolerance and intolerance in this journey of discovery towards peace makes it amazing journey.

Leaders both moderates and hardliners outline the way to a feature of harmony for the world. This important film should be seen by everyone who seeks to understand the challenges in the world today.

Every morning on the news we are bombarded with violence in the name of God and this film has real solutions.

An eye-opening documentary for these times!

This documentary is on the top of my list for what is going on in the World today. You can watch it several times and see that it answers a lot of questions that many people have these days. It is well done and keeps your interest every moment. The people you see in this documentary are not actors or newscasters, they are everyday people that talk to you as if they are in the room right with you. A must see for those who "wonder", and all that want the truth. I have this DVD in my collection and watch it often when what is happening these days I can get some answers. The title "Not in God's Name" is the right title for such a well made documentary.
