Watched this due to my obsession with 12 Monkeys, and all things Aaron Stanford. Pleasantly surprised by a reasonable thriller and once I got used to Aaron's English accent, I really enjoyed this film.
The plot concerns two young men, both of Italian heritage, living in London, Mario, wants to return to Italy and promote the village their families came from, so buys that villages neglected vineyards and an abandoned shrine, Anthony likes his life in London and is astonished that when Mario is killed, he inherits these purchases. After this the film turns into a thriller involving the beautiful Italian countryside, miracles, moped chases, the Mafia,the Vatican and pasta cooking. I was pleased to note the bad priests were only avaricious.
While the conclusion was predictable, (even more so if you looked at the dvd cover), it didn't spoil my enjoyment.
By the way, what have people got against Aaron Stanford's fingers? Sticks up the fingernails (12 monkeys),crushed (Nikita), chopped off (The hills have eyes), and shut in the car door in this film!
