Mona Marshall: Beat, Ludwika Jedrzejewiczowa

Quotes

  • [sometimes says it during a victory scene when Beat defeats the last remaining enemy of the battle]

Beat : Good job! Good job!

  • [says it sometimes when Beat is in the party starting a normal battle]

Beat : I'm ready to go! All I have to do is "let loose"!

  • Beat : Hey, mister. We came here 'cause we want to see whoever's in charge of this castle.

Tuba : Oh, you'll see him all right! From your "cell"!

[Tuba slaps Beat's face so hard that he was knocked out and fell to the ground]

Allegretto : Beat, no! Hey, mister! What do you think you're doing?

    Tuba : Let's have a little fun!

[the first battle against Tuba begins]

  • [always says it when Beat is automatically in the party starting the second battle against Tuba]

Beat : I'm going to get you back a hundred times before!

  • [sometimes says it when Beat is in the party as they successfully escaped from a battle]

Beat : I give up! I give up!

  • Frederic Francois Chopin : Huh? What is that thing?

[a glowing agogo bounced towards Allgretto's group]

Allegretto : Hm. I beg it's one of those agogos that girl was talking about before.

Beat : It's kind of weird. Look, Retto. It's glowing.

Polka : Agogo, thank you for saving me.

Beat : I've never seen one of those before. Oh, I know! I'll take a picture of it.

[just as Beat takes out his camera, the agogo vanishes]

Polka : Where did it go?

Allegretto : [slightly frustrated]  Great job, Beat. You scared it off by taking that stupid thing out! I wished I could've touched it.

Beat : [unhappy]  Gee, I'm sorry, Retto.

  • [says it sometimes when Beat is in the party starting a normal battle]

Beat : Huh? I'm suppose to fight this?

  • [last lines]

Solfege : I wonder if I have become a bit more like the sea water... when it's stirred by the beauty of the moon. Thank you, Polka dear. Please, be happy.

[the young form of Polka is transported by the glowing agogos to the ruined world and she reappears as a 14-year-old girl]

    Beat : It's Polka! She's... she's glowing!

    Allegretto : Polka...

[Polka touches down and as she does, the ruined world is magically restored to a field of flowers. The two race forward, then share a hug. The camera pans up to show the wispy clouds in the sky and the scene ends]

  • Allegretto : [PlayStation 3 release]  Why? Why couldn't I do anything for her What could I have done to change things?

    [begins to cry]

Allegretto : Does this mean dying was the only thing Polka could do? There wasn't any way we could save her? Why did Polka, of all people, have to suffer like that? What the hell is wrong with this world?

[stands up and raises his arms]

    Allegretto : Damn it!

[strikes the ground with both fists, then turns to Frederic]

Allegretto : You! You come barging into our world out of nowhere, then just leave when you get tired of it! This is supposed to be your dream, right? Well then, why couldn't you do anything? No. That's not it. It isn't a dream at all. It's real. And I don't know what, but I have to do *something*!

Frederic Francois Chopin : That's true. Perhaps this is no longer just a dream.

[gets up and everyone turns to him]

Frederic Francois Chopin : Have I awakened? At long last...

Beat : [backing away slightly]  F-Frederic?

Frederic Francois Chopin : [looking around and observing that the scenery around him has not changed]  Why? The dream was at an end. Oh, no. No, it can't be. Not Polka.

[stares at his hands in confused shock]

Polka : [falling into darkness]  Thank you, everyone. I know it didn't last very long, but really, this was the most fun I've ever had in my life. If I blow him a kiss, I wonder, will it reach him up there? I hope so. I really do.
