One time watch for Vennela Kishore and Rao ramesh
varunbhargav13 August 2019
#manmadhudu2

Movie is completely different from the talk spreading outside. It's not that bad. But the main issue is nobody expected that type of adult scenes from our manmadhudu. This movie would go into the audience well if it is promoted as a adult comedy entertainer. It has family moments all over but some scenes were awkward and may not go well with the family audience.

Nagarjuna's acting falls flat in so many scenes and looks artificial. Rakul was decent throughout the film. All other actors were decent. Especially senior actor Lakshmi garu did so well in emotional scenes.

Those Portuguese one liners are needless. And the actors trying to talk in pure telugu didn't work. Sometimes it's irritating too. Not much songs. Only song which chinmay sang is good.

Now let's talk about the hero of the movie VENNELA KISHORE... He is truly amazing. From scene one to the end, he entertains you thoroughly 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Especially that weed episode was truly hilarious. And another show Stealer was Rao Ramesh... His sattires were brilliant and his comic timing with vennela Kishore is also equally entertaining. They both took this film from a disaster to decent one time watch.

Story is a known one, screenplay is a bit over the top with too many scenes showcasing Nag as MANMADHUDU. If you avoid those liplocks and other double meaning scenes, it is a decent family entertainer. But this is a lesson to Nag and also director Rahul Ravindran. As a 60 yr old guy, he should select more better scripts than trying to potray himself as a younger guy.

Don't know what Rahul is thinking in his mind... The type of scenes in this movie involving women doesn't match at all with the kind of fight his wife is doing outside.

Families may watch it if they go in with open mind.

Disappointment as a film but huge thumbs up for the entertainment.

Sometimes you wish if it would get better, sometime you wish if it had finished earlier.

A spiritual sequel to the cult classic and ever-loving Manmadhudu (2002). Had certain expectations. With a director like Rahul Ravindran who had made a good film "Chi La Sow" and on the day Manmadhudu 2 was released, he received a National Award. The actor Sushanth gets to boast off about for doing a really good movie. The same thing can't be said about Manmadhudu 2. Only saving grace are Vennela Kishore, Rao Ramesh and Rakul Preet Singh (to a certain extent). A few laughs here, way more boredom and annoyance there. Though it was good to see Nagarjuna choosing such a script which even Chiranjeevi or Venkatesh would fear to tread but no matter if by virtue of his looks, Nagarjuna suits the character but by his performance he couldn't save the movie. This wasn't his best performance to be honest. It was good to have a few sexual jokes in the beginning and the joint (weed) family scene is one of the best scenes from the movie. Vennela Kishita saved it big time by his presence otherwise this movie would've been a huge disaster bcoz the script wasn't very convincing though it was good on paper.

Movie title sucks, should've changed it. That's y half the talk was so negative. Comedy is decent in parts. Production, cinematography, setting, and style is nice. Thin story.

Movie totally sucks in every aspect.. the family characters are the dumbest people and keerthi suresh, Samantha and bramhanandam are not necessary in the film and rakul preet and nagarjuna seems completely forced into hugging at the end and story is totally crap and copied from many Hollywood movies especially perfume business is inspired from ben whishaw PERFUME movie and overall manmadhudu 2 is an absolute disastrous, irritating, cheap adultery with not at all worth laughing jokes and stupid movie

Waste of time

Positives: 1) Cinematography 2) Average music 3) The name of the film(to mint some money)

Negatives: 1) Weak plot 2) Bad screenplay by Rahul Ravindran 3) Most of the parts seem artificial 4) Low standard comedy 5) Weak character development 6) There's no emotional connection 7) Nagarjuna (although fit) looks too old for this character

Verdict: Flat narration and confused screenplay makes this a really tiring watch...

Worst movie of the decade. No proper characterization and forcible acting from Nagarjuna.

Flawed script with poor making
saru202012 May 2020
Nagarjuna seems to have enjoyed romancing so many ladies in this film even now at his age. It is a complete family drama with some playboy mix up. The storyline looked very old/ flawed, like a 1990s movie, the screenplay was also not so good/ fast with 0 twists & turns, the only enjoyable part was the sentimental scenes with the old lady and some romance/dating scenes.

Unbearably annoying
india-amu2515 June 2021
The whole story told was just wrong. It was horribly written and poorly executed. In spite of big actors, the acting was sub par at best. It literally gave me a headache. My one star goes to Mr. Bramhanandam. Everything else, just boring.

Manmadhudu 2 REVIEW
Magow-Intermean11 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
When a commitment-phobic casanova gets an ultimatum from his family to get married within three months, he hires a waitress to be his pretend-fiance and ditch him on his wedding day so that his family gets off his back. However, things don't go according to plan, causing severe consequences. They paid no? - any Tollywood film buff in the new milennium would remember this dialogue from Brahmanandam in Manmadhudu. The film has become a modern day cult classic of sorts largely because of its comedy. Seventeen years later, Nagarjuna is back in Manmadhudu 2, directed by Rahul Ravindran. And while this film has no connection with the original, one thing that remains constant is the rip-roaring humour. If it was Brahmanandam who stole the show in Manmadhudu, this time it's Vennela Kishore who leaves the audience in splits with his terrific comic timing, that lifts this rom-com into something special. Having had his heart broken, Sambasiva Rao AKA Sam (Nagarjuna) decides that he doesn't believe in commitment or marriage, and instead deals only in one-night stands. When his family gives him an ultimatum to get married, he ropes in Avanthika (Rakul Preet) to act as his fiance and ditch him on the wedding day. Little does he know that his plan could have serious consequences. When you look at the rushes of the film, you'd expect it to have plenty of humour - and Rahul Ravindran doesn't disappoint there. There are some absolutely hilarious scenes in the film, especially involving Vennela Kishore, who really is the scene-stealer as the hero's friend. Whether it's him bursting into a long monologue in English or one particular instance where he inadvertently smokes weed and gets stoned, the actor is involved in some side-splitting humour. The visuals too are wonderful, with the stunning locales of Portugal and Switzerland adding to the film's vibe.

In attempt to balance the story, Rahul sometimes makes it seem a bit too melodramatic. The climax, in particular, could've been a touch better. A little less melodrama and a little more of that brilliant humour would've probably served the film better in the last half hour, especially how given the plotline, one could've predicted a melodramatic climax from a mile away.

It doesn't take much for Nagarjuna to convince us while playing the role of a casanova. "I don't fall in love, I make love," Nag quips in one scene and the effortless ease with which he pulls it off shows the trait of a seasoned actor. What's heartening to see is that both Rahul and Nagarjuna were willing to joke about the age-difference between the two lead actors. At one point, Rakul refers to Nag as "the hot older man". Rao Ramesh and Lakshmi - both terrific in the film - also take some hilarious wisecracks at the couple's age difference. Which is why a love story between the two of them doesn't seem cringe-worthy, and Rahul deserves credit for it. The director missed a trick or two with the climax but gets almost everything else bang on, ensuring a hilarious entertainer that you wouldn't mind watching on repeat. Too much of something can be an overkill, they often say. But when it comes to Vennela Kishore's comedy in Manmadhudu 2, that doesn't ring true. In fact, it only leaves you wanting for more.
