In a blink of an eye it’ll be October. The air will turn crisp, the leaves will turn beautiful shades of orange, and you’ll get to crack out your favorite sweatshirt (unless you live in Los Angeles like me, in which case it’ll be 90 and you’ll sweat involuntarily). But rather than playing outside, what you really want to do is watch Netflix. October presents a whole new list of viewing opportunities with classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Patton. If you choose to skip a day of work, what could be better than Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or Snow Day? And then there are no shortage of Netflix originals that are being added. The ones I’m looking most forward to are Mascots from Christopher Guest (Spinal Tap, Best in Show) and the third season of the under-appreciated Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show. For...

Scooby-Doo and his crime-busting pals will soon embark on a brand new comedy adventure, as Warner Bros. Pictures prepares to bring the beloved Hanna-Barbera franchise back to theaters on September 21, 2018.
The announcement was made jointly today by Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, Sue Kroll, President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of Worldwide Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
The film reunites Oscar-nominated producers Charles Roven and Richard Suckle (“American Hustle”), who previously produced the Studio’s hugely successful live-action features “Scooby-Doo” and “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.”
Joining them is BAFTA Award-winning producer Allison Abbate (“The Iron Giant”), who produced the Oscar-nominated features “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride” and “Frankenweenie.”
It will be directed by multiple Emmy Award nominee Tony Cervone (“Space Jam,” Cartoon Network’s “The Looney Tunes Show” and “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated”). Renowned...

Warner Bros. is looking to reboot Scooby-Doo for the big screen. I never really cared for the first couple of live action Scooby-Doo movies that were made, but my kids love them. It's a big property--the first two films pulled in over $450 million, so of course the studio is looking to capitalize on it some more.
Like the first two movies the film will be a live-action and CGI hybrid, and the studio has hired Matt Lieberman (Dr. Dolittle: Tail to the Chief) to write the script. Who did you expect... Aaron Sorkin? The producers of the original movie, Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, are back for this reboot. There's no word on what the movie will be about, but it will obviously involve the Mystery Inc. trying to solve some kind of supernatural crime.
It will be interesting to see who they cast in the lead roles this time around.

I’m going to say something a lot of people may disagree with: I Hate Scooby-Doo.
Ever since I was little I never liked that big dumb dog, his stoner buddy or their obnoxious friends running around solving mysteries and making old amusement park owners look like fools.
Needless to say I could not care less about what I’m about to tell you, but it’s my job, so here goes: Warner Brothers is developing a new animated Scooby-Doo feature film.
The new film has is at Atlas Entertainment with Charles Roven and Richard Suckle producing.
From Variety:
Roven and Suckle also produced 2002′s Scooby-Doo for Warner Bros., mixing live action actors with the titular Great Dane, which was computer-generated, along with Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed two years later. The first film generated $275 million worldwide, and the second followed with $180 million.
There’s no word a plot yet, but...

Dimension Films has been tried to remake "Short Circuit" since 2008. Then in August, the studio hired "Alvin and the Chipmunks" director Tim Hill to direct from a script by Dan Milano ("Robot Chicken"), who did a re-write of the SS Wilson and Brent Maddock script. Now comes word that Dimension is once again not happy with the story of the remake and has brought on Matt Lieberman to do another re-write. Lieberman is responsible for the direct-to-video sequel "Dr. Dolittle: Tail to the Chief," a fourth installment in the franchise. And regarding the plan for "Short Circuit," producer David Foster previously said: "We're bringing Number 5 into the 21st Century and taking advantage of the improvements in robotics that are so massive that robots are now performing heart surgeries in hospitals." Click here to read more about "Short Circuit."...

80s nostalgia hounds, don't get too angry now. Dimension's upcoming Short Circuit remake is alive and assembling as we speak, with the hiring of writer Matt Lieberman (Dr. Dolittle: Tail To The Chief) being the latest development. Lieberman, an alumni of the Disney writers program and an uncredited scribe on a handful of recent live-action Disney films, joins Hop and Alvin And The Chipmunks director Tim Hill in this re-imagining of the popular 80s film. Do you see now why Johnny 5 over...
