The production, set quality and special effects of D3 seems to be lacking compared to the D1 and D2. Just not as much "there" there in the 3rd movie.

Warning: Spoilers
The title here "Descendants 3: Good to Be Bad" pretty much gives you all the information you need what this is (all about). It is another song and music video from the Descendants franchise, a (so far) duology of movies (and several additional clips) that takes the old fairy tale world into the now, but very differently than you have seen it on "Once Upon a Time" for example. If better or worse, it is for you to decide. But it sure is a success. This one here was released a little over 1.5 months ago and it has scored almost 20 million views on Youtube since then, which means about a million every 3 days, even more I think. But I am not too big on it. One reason is that it is more hip hop / rap heavy than most of the other music they have done and it's not my favorite genre. It sure fits the subject though I guess. It is not really about being bad in the sense of being cruel or a villain, but more like being bad-ass. All family friendly with the Descendants you know. Sadly these contents hide the lack of talent in some. The best example would be the guy with the long brown hair who honestly does not have a single talented bone in his body when it comes to rapping. No offense, but if he agrees to take part in stuff like that, then he has to live with the criticism. The girls are slightly better without shining either. I guess technical progress can make them sound at least tolerable in the 21st century. Overall, it was not a failure, but I am kinda glad it was this short. 2 stars out of 5 seems accurate because costumes and sets were okay. Just don#t expect anything along the lines of Rihanna's S&M or Michael Jackson's Bad dealing with similar subjects in a maybe less kids-friendly manner. In short, this is really not the stuff you would want your kids to see. It won't hurt them, but maybe it will confuse them what to consider quality and that is nothing to be proud of. I personally also don't like how far the franchise has moves away by now from the original idea, the one I mentioned at the beginning of making fairy tales modern again and with this they succceeded when it all started, but the glory seems long gone by now and now it is just loud pointless fantasy stuff I believe. Time to end it there, but I guess as long as the money is right, they will keep going. Shame. Not even Dove Cameron can win me over here. Watch (and listen to) something else instead, even if admittedly at least the chorus is okay to listen to thanks to its mild catchiness.
