Watch the originals instead

Despite ITV saying otherwise, this format of trotting out old game shows that they hold the rights to, is nothing new.

Ant and Dec had a go, then Vernon Kay (remember when he was Mr Saturday Night?), and now the reigns have been handed to Alan Carr, who presumably will be given the chance to make a series out of whichever one tests the best.

Carr is certainly up for the challenge, there is a sense that ITV are desperate for this to work, but for me all it did was make me recall the originals, all of which are readily available on other channels.

Easy watching

I really didn't think I was going to enjoy this, hated the first show with the celebrities on, so sick of seeing celebrity versions of every game show going. Then, when ordinary people got a go, it transformed. The host, Alan Carr, came into his own displaying the warmth that a Saturday night host needs, and he out contestants at ease and made them laugh, as well as the audience of course. I hope he gets another series.

Original Is Dated!

Some folk need to wind their neck in and accept times have changed. I grew up watching these shows and this was a great take on them. However, it does seem a little cold letting contestants walk off themselves and a few awkward moments. This was enjoyable well thought and some new additions to revive the relics. Alan is more enjoyable than some that have tried and failed this job application. I enjoy it more because it's not all 'celebrity specials' it's allowing actual members of the public to participate and that is seldom seen now with money 'going to charity'. Please accept that 30 years have passed and this is a good revamp.
