Scrooge's factory worker is named Eager Beaver. An eager beaver is a colloquial term that means someone who is a go-getter or who is otherwise eager to please a boss or authority figure.
Unlike many other children's cartoon series of the 1980s and early-1990s, Ducktales only rarely addressed social, cultural, or environmental problems; instead, the series tended to focus on adventure and humor in episode plots. This is one of only a few episodes that breaks that trend. The focus on poverty, the plight of the working poor, and poor working conditions in low-wage jobs makes this an exceptional Ducktales episode.
One of the minor villains of the episode is the porcine businessman named Mr. Trumpcard who wants to buy Scrooge's factory and shut it down. Mr. Trumpcard is based on Donald Trump, who at the time was a notorious businessman and real estate mogul and was often parodied in children's cartoons at the time (usually as a symbol or greed or cruelty -- as is the case here). The reference to a real celebrity of the era (a commonality for Ducktales) was even more notable as the villainous figure being parodied, Trump, would later go on to be the impeached, one-term, 45th president of the United States.
