. . . a frequent contributor to The Bullwinkle Show, the Peabody's Improbable History entry for the Season 2, Episode 11 television program made kids want to listen, and hear about the midnight ride of Paul Revere. There's not an elder now alive who recalls the troubled times of 1775. Mr. Revere had friends in high places, such in the steeple of Boston's North Church. Back then lanterns were a dime a dozen, so Paul instructed his lookout to hang one if by land, and two if by sea from the steeple's balcony. Paul galloped off at high speed: "The British are coming!" his only creed. One dude was sound asleep in his bed, who that day a Redcoat would shoot dead. This brought our new nation to life, after eight years of bloody strife. But Peabody makes a sow's ear out of this silk purse.
