. . . ribald episode of Peabody's Improbable History involves Mr. P. propelling his boy Sherman to a rude awakening at an infamous Western bordello. Sherman may be a teenager in dog or cartoon years, but he still looks like a kid on the small screens pervading American households in the 1960's. Therefore, it was and still is very jarring to see his supposed mentor and legal guardian (see the initial Improbable History juvenile court hearing) connecting Sherman to the Real Life tart Martha Jane Canary, aka "CALAMITY JANE." Such an act of wanton moral turpitude merits a strong reaction, even Today in this Our Modern 21st Century.
