What do you do when a gesture of admiration for your favorite celebrity doesn’t quite go as planned? For Harvey Kindlon, a heartfelt token of adoration towards Hollywood starlet Megan Fox, who just turned 38 yesterday, once resulted in an unforeseen viral moment.
Sadly, the Holiday in the Sun actress once turned down her young fan who tried to give her a sign of his love in front of a horde of paparazzi, who were obviously taking pictures of the entire event. It was way back in 2009 in London, when the then 11-year-old Kindlon stood among millions of fans, clutching a yellow rose for Fox, who soared to fame as Mikaela Banes in the hit flick, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Back in 2009 veteran director Michael Bay created the iconic film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Being a sequel to the 2007 film Transformers, the 2009 film had to be bigger and better than the previous one and that is what Bay was hoping for.
A still from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
What was supposed to be a grand cinematic film turned into a nightmare for the visual effects company Ilm (Industrial Light & Magic) because of the heavy CGI scenes that they had to render. As per the reports, the rendering even caused a small fire to the computers of Ilm because they were so awesome and action-heavy!

One of Hollywood’s most prominent faces, Robert Pattinson, boasts a stellar career with the Twilight Saga and Matt Reeves’ The Batman standing out as the crowning jewels. However, like many other actors in the industry, he too had his share of struggles in the past before making it big. Born in London, the star faced a tough time in cracking his way into showbiz. Already possessing prowess with acting, he also resorted to the territory of extending his wit to make it through.

Hilariously enough, the 38-year-old has admitted to lying on his resume and fabricating stories to clinch roles before becoming a popular face alongside the Kristen Stewart starrer movies. Moreover, one of his stories also involved a working member of the British royal family, Prince William, into the mix, and outrageously enough, many fell for his story.

"Transformers" has been a staple in pop culture for going on 40 years now. From the somewhat humble beginnings as a bunch of transforming toys turned popular cartoon series to eventually becoming a multi-billion-dollar film franchise, Optimus Prime and the gang have come a long way. Speaking of the movies, we now live in a world with seven live-action movies, as well as the animated one from the '80s, with even more on the way. That being the case, it might be a little tough for casual movie lovers to keep track of things. We're here to help.
We're going to go over the correct movie to watch the "Transformers" movies, either for those who simply want to watch them in the order they were released, or those who would prefer to watch them in chronological order. Either way, we've got you covered. We're also going to go over some...

The “Transformers” franchise returned to theaters in 2023 with “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” the latest installment in the big-screen, live-action adaptation of the beloved Hasbro toy line. “Rise of the Beasts,” which is the planned start of a new trilogy, is the seventh film in the series. Chronologically, it comes after “Bumblebee,” which was a prequel to the first five films in the series. This means you don’t technically have to watch or rewatch any of the Michael Bay-helmed movies before — but don’t you kind of want to anyway?
In case you forgot, Michael Bay was behind the camera for “Transformers” (2007), “Revenge of the Fallen” (2009), “Dark of the Moon” (2011), “Age of Extinction” (2014), and “The Last Knight” (2017). Travis Knight (“Kubo and the Two Strings”) took over for “Bumblebee” (2018) and Steven Caple Jr. (“Creed II”) stepped in for “Rise of the Beasts” (2023). Some people just have a different sense of time than others. You know that friend who is always late to every meetup? As it turns out, this friend has something in common with "Transformers" franchise director Michael Bay, according to a behind-the-scenes featurette about the 2009 film, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."
Many actors and crew who have worked with Bay on the "Transformers" movies have spoken about how he can be tough on set, and yet they keep coming back to work with him. In fact, in a 2016 IGN article, Josh Duhamel, who has been in a number of the films, spoke about how "80% of this crew was there from the beginning [the first film was released in 2007], from the very first movie. [...] People can say what they want about him, but these people love him. They hate him at times, but they also love him."

The actual plot of Michael Bay's 2009 sci-fi actioner "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is rather oblique. In 17,000 Bce, Transformers used specialized, high-tech, sun-killing solar collectors to gather energy from the galaxy's stars. Their ethical code forbid them from snuffing out stars in solar systems that supported life, but one Transformer defied said ethic to deplete Earth's sun. That Transformer was excommunicated and became the first Decepticon. Fast forward to 2009, and the modern-day Decepticons are intent on activating the ancient solar collector once again. It's hidden inside one of the Pyramids of Giza.
"Revenge of the Fallen" was filmed in several locations in the United States, including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and remote places in New Mexico, and Arizona. The Pyramid sequences were indeed filmed in Cairo, and the footage of ancient Egyptian cities was filmed in Petra, Jordan. Many filmgoers might recognize Petra from the climax of the 1989 film "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,...

“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” is coming to Paramount+ this week.
The streamer announced the action- and visual effects-packed film will be available to stream on the service beginning Tuesday, July 25 in the United States and Canada. The film’s availability in additional international Paramount+ markets will be announced at a later date.
The seventh installment of the hit Paramount Pictures film franchise opened atop the domestic box office back in June and has grossed over $420 million worldwide.
Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, the film takes audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduces a whole new faction of Transformer – the Maximals – to join them as allies in the existing battle for earth against the Terrorcons.
While “Rise of the Beasts” is the newest Transformers film, it actually takes place before most of its predecessors in terms of storyline.

The term "vulgar auteurism" was coined in the early 2010s to describe the work of low art big-budget filmmakers like Michael Bay. I've always felt it was a silly expression, myself. "Auteur" is a loaded word for reasons too complicated to get into here, but for me, "auteur" isn't necessarily synonymous with quality. It simply refers to a storyteller with a clear set of interests and fixations.
In Bay's case, he worships those who wear badges and uniforms for a living, and his craft involves a form of technical maximalism that's come to be known as "Bayhem." As Bay once put it while explaining his love of Robert Wise's classic 1961 musical "West Side Story," "It was all about form, style, how they use the medium. That's what I try to do with my action."
The opening to Bay's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is a perfect example of what he's talking about.

The original Max series “Full Circle” debuts on July 13. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the new drama investigates a kidnapping gone wrong in New York, revealing the secrets and lies of multiple characters. Or as the trailer warns: “Everything is connected.” The six-episode limited series stars Zazie Beetz, Claire Danes, Jim Gaffigan, Jharrel Jerome, Timothy Olyphant, and Dennis Quaid.
Watch the “Full Circle” trailer:
The four-part documentary “Last Call: When A Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York” is set in the early 1990s as the AIDS crisis worsens. The media’s distorted coverage of the gay victims, coupled with the homophobic biases of the criminal justice system, undermine the investigation. The docuseries — which premieres on Max on July 9 — illustrates how the LGBTQ+ community fought to solve the murders and demand attention for those murdered.

Those mockbuster makers at The Asylum are at it again. When the first live-action Transformers movie was released back in 2007, The Asylum got in on the giant robot action by releasing a movie called Transmorphers. The Transformers sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen followed in 2009 – so The Asylum responded with the Transmorphers prequel Transmorphers: Fall of Man. Since then, the Transformers franchise has continued to grow. There was Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011, Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014, Transformers: The Last Knight in 2017, and the spin-off prequel Bumblebee in 2018. Another prequel, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, is in theatres right now. And while The Asylum has let several Transformers movies come and go without meeting them with a Transmorphers mockbuster, this year they’re finally reviving the franchise with Transmorphers: Mech Beasts! You can watch the film’s trailer in the embed above.

Let’s cut the crap. Most modern movies are an absolute disgrace, a cinematic sewage dump. And I hate to say it, but your favorite movie sucks.
Do a quick search for “modern movies suck” on Google or Youtube, and you’ll see we’re not alone in our assessment.
I’d bet my life savings that my discerning grandparents wouldn’t dare associate with the trash you call your favorite movie.
Cinematic artistry? Don’t make me laugh. Movie-making today is less about impactful storytelling and more about milking the ignorant masses dry.
Why? Because it’s easy. And because viewers like you, let them get away with it.
Have we sunk so low? Are we so brain-dead that we keep consuming this nonsense without a second thought? All signs point to yes…
Get ready to squirm because here are the top ten reasons why your favorite movie is...

In the penultimate episode of HBO and creator Jesse Armstrong’s Succession, the character of Ewan Roy (James Cromwell) stands before a cathedral filled with mourners and attendants, and he speaks some difficult, but true, things about his brother. “He was a man who has, here and there, drawn in the edges of the world… [but he] fed that dark flame in men. The hard, mean, hard-relenting flame that keeps their hearths warm while another grows cold.”

Autobots – roll out. The Transformers franchise has been a staple in pop-culture ever since their creation as toys back in the 1980s. However, the concept of massive living creatures turning into everyday machines and living secretly amongst humans was so compelling and unique that it warranted much more than just action figures. Followed by tv shows, graphic novels, and multiple spinoffs the Transformers universe quickly became one of the largest established I.P. in the history of media. And of course, that means Hollywood came knocking. But, not all entries have been great, as we’ll dig into with our Transformers Movies Ranked list!

If it feels like every couple of years there’s a new “Transformers” movie, you wouldn’t be wrong.
Beginning with 2007’s “Transformers,” seven live-action movies have been released. The first five were directed by Michael Bay, who remained a producer on the two most recent films.
The first five films take place in present day, while the sixth film “Bumblebee” (the only film without “Transformers” in its title) is set in 1987. The upcoming film “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” is set in the ’90s, so it’s a sequel And a prequel.
Confused? Don’t be. We break down how to watch the live-action Transformers movies in order.

After five long years, the Transformers franchise is finally heading back to theaters with the release of "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" on June 9. The new movie, which marks the seventh film in the franchise, stars Anthony Ramos ("In the Heights") as an electronics expert and Dominique Fishback ("Swarm") as an artifact researcher who both get unexpectedly thrust into "a '90s globetrotting adventure" with the Autobots and Decepticons.
"Rise of the Beasts" will introduce not only a new set of human characters but new Transformers factions as well, known as the Maximals, the Predacons, and the Terrorcons. These aliens can turn into robotic animals, and while we've seen these types of Transformers in the '90s "Beast Wars" cartoon, we're just now getting to witness them in live-action form. This weekend sees the release of the latest adventure in the Transformers franchise as Transformers: Rise of the Beasts hits theaters. The film is meant to reboot the series, yet still in the same universe as all previous films. As I understand it, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a sequel to Bumblebee which also makes it a prequel to the original five Michael Bay directed movies (Bay remains a producer on this new film.)
The Transformers franchise has seen it fair share of ups and downs, beginning in 2007 when the original big screen film hit theaters and opened with $70.5 million on its way to a $319.2 million domestic finish ($709.7 worldwide). 2009 saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hit screens with an opening weekend of $108.9 million and a $402.1 million domestic finish ($836.3 million worldwide.) In 2011, we got the final Shia Labeouf led Transformers film with Dark of the Moon that opened with $97.8 million...

With just a few days to go before the release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Paramount Pictures has released the final trailer for the latest installment of the franchise.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts introduces new factions of Transformers, including the Maximals led by Optimus Primal and the Terrorcons led by Scourge. As you can see in the final trailer above, Rise of the Beasts also introduces Unicron, the planet-sized Transformer who devours entire worlds. The gigantic Transformer was first introduced in Transformers: The Movie back in 1986 where he was voiced by Orson Welles. This time around the character is voiced by Colman Domingo of Fear the Walking Dead.

Love ’em or hate ’em, Michael Bay has helmed more hours of live-action Transformers mayhem than any other director. Steven Caple Jr. has taken the helm of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, but he told THR that he still reached out to Michael Bay for advice on the movie.
“You want to make sure you’re in your creative bubble when trying to design this world and build out the franchise, but similar to when I stepped into the Creed franchise, you call the ones who have done it before you, whether it be Sylvester Stallone or Ryan Coogler,” Steven Caple Jr. explained. “So I’m doing the same here. I hit up Michael Bay, who’s, of course, a producer on this project. He was making Ambulance at the time, but he still picked up the phone and hopped onto Zoom.“

Echoing sentiments shared by the overall industry, AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron discussed the ongoing WGA strike in sympathetic terms while assuring investors that the impact on the theatrical pipeline would be minimal at worst.
“We’re very sympathetic to the real problems that exist for members of the Writers Guild,” stated Aron in Friday’s earnings call. “Streaming has changed the landscape of television, changed the economics of what writers earn. We are hopeful that the Hollywood producers and the Writers Guild can work in good faith to craft a solution that works for all parties.”
In sentiments that were echoed by Cinemark CEO Sean Gamble who also had a quarterly earnings reveal and conference call on Friday, Aron noted that only a long strike by screenwriters would disrupt the cinematic pipeline, be it theatrical releases or films intended for streaming. Shia Labeouf played the main human protagonist, Sam Witwicky, early on in the Transformers franchise, but several fans were disappointed when the fourth installment, Transformers: Age of Extinction, didn’t include him. He played an important role in the first three movies and the conflict between Autobots and Decepticons. Witwicky was a high school kid who bought a used car which changed his fate forever, as it turned out to be a Transformer known as Bumblebee. Autobots came to Earth to fight the Decepticons, and Witwicky became a key ally of the Autobots. In the movies Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,...

The Writers Guild of America has voted in favor of a strike, with the organization's members voting near-unanimously for the measure. The WGA revealed that 97.8 percent of its members who voted were in favor of a potential strike if an agreement cannot be reached with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which represents the majority of film and TV production in Hollywood, with studios like Disney and Netflix, among others, under that umbrella.

Easter hasn’t always been a great time to release movies, compared to March when the advent of spring break for many schools has made it an ideal spot for studios to release their family films, outside the usual summer and holiday school breaks. But that’s no longer the case thanks to the various box office records set this weekend by “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.”
In some ways, Universal was the first studio to really capitalize on the Easter weekend by releasing “Furious 7” there in early April 2015; its follow-up “The Fate of the Furious” also did very well there two years later. That was probably why Universal scheduled Illumination and Nintendo’s “The Super Mario Bros.” to be released into 4,343 theaters on the Wednesday before the weekend, something that really paid off. So far, it has grossed $204.6 million in just its first five days, putting it just...

Talk about next-level business.
Illumination and Universal’s Nintendo video game adaptation The Super Mario Bros. Movie shattered all expectations and broke numerous records in its box office debut over the long Easter holiday weekend. The pic scored the top opening of all time for an animated film with $375.6 million in worldwide ticket sales, according to final numbers. The massive five-day domestic haul is $204.6 million, including $146.4 million for the three-day weekend, while the overseas tally stands at $171 million from 70 markets, according to final numbers released Monday (Sunday’s international tally was slightly higher at $173 million).
Mario, which creates an instant new film franchise, shattered numerous other records, including landing the top opening ever for a movie based on a video game and the top opening of 2023 to date on all fronts after surpassing Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Nintendo has been the most recognizable name in gaming pretty much ever since the Nes brought console gaming home in a bigger-than-ever way in the '80s. Now, all these years later, the house that Mario built has finally conquered the box office, thanks to that plumber's good name. "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" not only topped the charts this past weekend, but it absolutely smashed records on its way to the top. In short, the movie obliterated expectations and has offered Nintendo a path to conquer the big screen as well as the screen in your living room for the foreseeable future.
Per Box Office Mojo, "The Super Mario Bros. It’s-a blockbuster! “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” an animated adventure based on the classic video game, crushed the competition with its jaw-dropping $204.6 million domestic and $377 million global debut over the long Easter weekend.
Those results far exceeded expectations and even surpassed the starts of recent installments in Universal’s biggest franchises, like “Jurassic World Dominion” ($145 million domestically) and “Fast and Furious 9” ($70 million). So, expect a sequel to be announced faster than you can say “Let’s-a go!”
“The box office just kept growing and growing,” marvels Jim Orr, Universal’s president of domestic distribution. “It’s a tremendous worldwide debut, and the movie has a clear runway.”
The PG film, which cost Universal, Illumination and Nintendo roughly $100 million to bring to the big screen, thrived as the de facto choice among family crowds, who have been starved of compelling theatrical offerings since last December’s release, “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

Netflix is on the cusp of taking down a wide selection of movies and TV series.
The streaming service removes numerous titles each month, but without fanfare; unless you happen to select the thing that’s about to leave, you will have no idea there’s a limited amount of time left to watch.
Fortunately, we’ve compiled a list of every movie and TV show being removed from Netflix in April 2023.
We’ve aggregated all the impending removals from Netflix in the UK and US, which we’ve signalled below. If there isn’t a territory listed next to the title, then it will be leaving both.

Why bury the lead, Illumination, the studio that has seen tremendous success with their animated films like Despicable Me, Minions, The Grinch, The Secret Life of Pets and Sing can now lay claim to the highest grossing animated opening of all time at the global box office as The Super Mario Bros. Movie is estimated to take in around $377 million, beating the previous champ, Frozen II’s opening weekend take of $358 million. In North American, Mario became the champ for highest opening weekend for a video game based movie as it took in a reported $146.3 million, completely obliterating the previous champ: last year’s Sonic The Hedgehog 2, which opened with a 3-day take of $72.1 million. It also lays claim to the highest 5-day opening ever (for a film released on a Wednesday) with $204.6 million, beating previous champ Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen which had a $200 million Wednesday to Sunday gross.

Find a full list of every film and TV show arriving on Netflix this month here.
Nb: We put this list together with help from What’s on Netflix.

In the world of motion picture filmmaking there's only one thing we know for sure: Children + Corn = Profit. But there's a trick to it. You can't use just any old corn. It's gotta be murder corn. That's how Stephen King envisioned this, and we gotta stay true to his original vision.
Everything else about Stephen King's original vision for "Children of the Corn," however, has long since been chucked — excuse me, "shucked" — out the window. What started as a 1977 short story in the pages of "Penthouse," about a bickering couple who wanders into a small farming town where the children were all cultists who believe in killing all adults, became a hit movie in 1984, and eventually devolved into an impossibly long-running straight-to-video franchise. 11 films and counting! (12 if you include the 1983 short film "Disciples of the Crow!")
You don't keep making that many movies if you aren't making money, and you...
