Alex O'Loughlin: Mick St. John

Quotes

  • Mick St. John : Is there any chance this cure could be intensified to be made permanent?

Coraline : That's what I've been trying to do. But I haven't been successful.

Mick St. John : What have you been testing on vampires?

Coraline : Just rogues. It helps with the research and they need to be put down anyway. So I'm just killing two bats with one stone really.

  • Mick St. John : [Beth tells Mick that Josh was going to propose and isn't sure about what she would've said because she's falling in love with Mick]  How did you know that she was the one?

Mick St. John : [Mick thinks carefully, he knows Beth is feling raw from Josh's death and coupled with the fact that he was married to Coraline and she's asking marital advice is new and unwelcome territory. He also doesn't want his feelings for her to get in the way]  I don't know. It just felt right.

  • Mick St. John : [narrating]  As vampires age, their scent becomes more potent from decay.

    [entering his loft/office]

Mick St. John : And I'm picking up on a lot of decay.

  • Mick St. John : [seeing a bathtub full of ice]  Taking a nap?

Cynthia : Oh, you know hotels don't come with freezers.

Mick St. John : Where's Coraline? I saw the tapes. I know you took her out of the hospital. But why?

Cynthia : You make it sound like I kidnapped her. I was helping her.

    Mick St. John : Really?

Cynthia : Come on, Mick. A vamp in the hospital?

Mick St. John : Yeah, but she wasn't a vamp. She was human. So where is she now?

Cynthia : Europe. She left the day after she got out of the hospital.

Mick St. John : Some things never change, do they? You're still lying for her? So if she's in Europe, why are you still in town?

    Cynthia : I'm running a business.

Mick St. John : That requires agricultural products from France?

    Cynthia : I supply restaurants.

Mick St. John : What do you know about this cure?

    Cynthia : Cure for what?

Mick St. John : For what we are.

Cynthia : Don't tell me you're still fighting who you are.

Mick St. John : [sarcastic]  As helpful as ever.

Cynthia : Oh, I do try.

  • Logan Griffen : Who's the man?

Mick St. John : That was fast. What do you got?

Logan Griffen : Your girl's been busy the last few years. Master's and PhD both in biochemistry. I hacked in and ran her credit cards. She's been flying back and forth between L.A. and Paris every couple weeks, and she's been importing some kind of agricultural products from France.

Mick St. John : [thinking]  The cure.

Logan Griffen : And when she stays in town, she stays at the Hardwick Hotel.

Mick St. John : And is she in town?

    Logan Griffen : Mm-hmm.

Mick St. John : Perfect. Give me her room number.

Logan Griffen : Oh, no go.

Mick St. John : Okay, keep digging. I need to know where those imports are being delivered.

Logan Griffen : [clearing his throat and extending his hand]  Hmm?

Mick St. John : [sighing, he hands over a couple of bills]  And everything else she's up to.

  • Mick St. John : [narrating]  Logan is the vampire version of a slob.

    [out loud]

Mick St. John : Do you ever leave here?

Logan Griffen : Why leave when the milkman delivers to your doorstep?

[indicating "Guitar Hero" on the TV]

Logan Griffen : Hey, check this out. Expert level, playing my new coffin guitar, and I just activated Star Power.

Mick St. John : [sarcastic]  Wow, that's excellent.

Logan Griffen : This game has a pretty decent collection of music tracks. But, uh, man, these solos are a bitch to play.

Mick St. John : Logan, I have a job for you. Would you like it?

Logan Griffen : [pausing the game]  What do you need?

  • Mick St. John : This is ridiculous. I did everything possible to save him.

Beth Turner : You did everything humanly possible.

Mick St. John : I live every day regretting what I am. I'm not about to subject Josh or anyone else to that fate, okay?

  • Mick St. John : A couple of medieval vampires showed up on my roof looking for Coraline. Something she took from them. The main guy, he seemed to know everything about me.

Josef Kostan : And the other one?

Mick St. John : He just stood there like his indentured servant. There was something about these guys, it was like they were from a different time.

Josef Kostan : Hmm. What did they look like?

Mick St. John : Well, the talker, he was big; 6'1", 200 pounds, dark hair. I don't know, strong, confident.

Josef Kostan : Sounds like someone's got a crush.

[he snickers, but sees Mick's not laughing]

    Josef Kostan : Anything else?

Mick St. John : One of his eyes... it was jet black. He had this stone-cold stare.

Josef Kostan : [recognizing the description]  Lance.

Mick St. John : Lance? What, you know this guy?

Josef Kostan : Yeah, of him. I mean, he's somewhat legendary. He's not like other vampires.

Mick St. John : How come I never heard of him?

Josef Kostan : Because he doesn't need to blend in with society. Makes me look like a pauper. He lives under his own rules. This is the first I've heard of him in decades. He never leaves Europe.

Mick St. John : What do you think Coraline took?

Josef Kostan : I don't know. But who cares, Mick? You look after yourself. I'm telling you, you don't mess around with this cat.
