ABC Studios has extended the options on the entire cast of the untitled Cedric the Entertainer comedy pilot.
The pickup for the actors indicates that the project still is in contention at the network.
The multicamera comedy centers on a family man (Cedric) who always has been the proud breadwinner but has difficulty adjusting when his wife's (Regina Hall) hobby turns into a multimillion-dollar enterprise.
The cast of the pilot, which was filmed in October -- before the beginning of the writers strike -- also includes Peter Mackenzie, Charles Malik Whitfield and Melissa Peterman.
In addition to the Cedric project, ABC has another family sitcom in the works that is fronted by a black comedian: a show from the My Wife and Kids duo of Damon Wayans and Dan Reo starring Wayans.
