Miracle In CellNo.7

Feel good movie. It made me cried after Deivathirumagal(Tamil) and few similar sequences are there. Nice movie. Good to watch. Comedy is also good. Innocent father and child acted so real.

Unpredictable climax...
sushilpratapdangi15 September 2020
What does it offer you? Incredible cinematography, realistic acting, heart touching story telling, living humanity, unexpected ending, where one'd easily break down.

Synopsis as follows Mehmet Koyunco (Memo) is a father with an intellectual disability and his little six year old daughter Ova. Sadly, Memo imprisoned for uncommitted crime and sentenced to the death. Before Memo's execution he stays with others inmates in cell number 7 where miracle happens.

Quick confession, I watched this movie because of its South Korean original, with which I was encountered several years back. If you haven't watch the Korean version then must check after this, if you really want to weep more.

My first comment
bekircakildere17 January 2021
I have watched hundreds of excellent movies so far. Never in my life before have I ever felt the need to write comment after watching a movie until watching this masterpiece. It will make you cry even if you have a stoned heart.

Under regular conditions I would not watch a Turkish movie due to various reasons the first one of which is disastrous acting. This movie terminated all of my prejudice. Definitely a must watch. I am deeply touched by the movie.

ONE OF THE WORST FILIPINO REMAKE EVER MADE!
reybenipayo7 December 2020
I rate this film a big fat 0!!! MIRACLE IN CELL NO.7 is awfully awkward Filipino movie I've ever seen! The whole movie is a big problem and no one from the cast save this film from being ONE OF THE WORST FILIPINO MOVIE REMAKE EVER MADE! The make-up is one of those big issues and that over the top ending so unintentionally funny! Overall, watch the ORIGINAL KOREAN VERSION instead! Please do stay away from this trash!

a rare 10 for a filipino movie remake.

It won best picture in MMFF but it's more than that award that make it a fun and worth-it movie to watch. I never intend to write a review but after seeing mixed reviews in IMDB, i just feel the need to say my thoughts on how good this movie is. First off, i LOVE this movie. I watched the original version and this version and I have to say i loved BOTH for different reasons.

***This version keeps the context of the original yet tried to align it with Filipino culture. The casting, I would say, is excellent - even the supporting actors brought light to every scene. I initially doubted Aga Muhlach would be a fit as the protagonist but I was proven wrong. He was effective and lives up to the role.

***I watched this with my whole family ( our family had different age groups and demographics ) and everyone got their heartstrings tugged one way or another. That says something for me - being a testimony that this movie is for everyone.

***The absurdity of the plot makes it memorable and fun but nevertheless a great adaptation of the original.

***Musical score and editing is also something go be commended as that brought this film to an even greater viewing experience.

Miracle in Cell No. 7 will make you tear... from yawning.
MontyDaddy1431 March 2020
This movie has some great actors that really help to the main story, it has a nice environment, surrounding soundtrack and an emotional story... pretty emotional I would say; and it's that every act on this movie seems to be forced to make the audience cry, it's the turkish adaptation to every latin soap, and of course with good actors. The point is that every plot on the script seems to be structured in order to give you fake hopes, and then take them away, you can really start to see for a moment which choice will make the characters in order to cause forced feelings on you. I mean, a mentally ill father with an abandoned son? it just needs an injured dog and you got the complete pack for ridiculous compassion. This movie it's just a try-harder to make you feel emotions, and in movie concepts, feelings manipulation to sell it's just wrong; even with all of these things, the context of where the movie is taking place it's really interesting and it's actually what really saves it for me, old war times with different governments and violence that we're not really aware of in our knowledge, it's actually what brings the surprise on the movie, overcoming the repetitive script.

It's a good idea, with good actors that the directors just thought of selling and not putting devotion on it, and this is the result

Still made me cry not because of this movie but because of the Korean Version
Rgreviewer14 June 2020
Yes it still made me and my wife cried but for me its because it reminded me about the screne from the Korean version. There's a big hit and miss on Aga Mulach's acting where there are some english dialogs that doesnt fit with the character. Almost as if he sometimes forgot he's playing a retarded person. Being a fan of the Korean version, I can't stop comparing this movie and making comments how it miss the spot. The additional ending was so confusing that we need to rewind it a couple of times to see if we understood it until we gave up...

Not bad for a remake
mitchelljun30 March 2020
The original Korean version was very good, this adaptation was very okay.

Differences in story-line make this somewhat different, just doesn't pull at your heart the way the original does.

Still worth watching while stuck at home.

Insipid
iboso6423 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It takes a rarely-attained level of incompetence to turn a story of a wrongly-accused child rapist/murderer into something so insipid, but here we are. I've seen a lot of Filipino movies for a gringo, that's for sure. While only a couple have been brilliant, most have at least been entertaining. Not this one. Amateurish writing, acting, and direction. If you don't have the gravitas to handle the weighty subject matter... DON'T DO IT! Avoid at all costs.
