Rusty has a sweetie
pensman21 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
What is this? Rinty needs Rusty. It looks like an Apache is coming over the wall, but it's not an Apache: it's a monkey. A wagon is approaching the fort, some kind of medicine show; but whoever it is driving, he's being chased by three riders. Rinty is sent to help as Rip and a patrol are riding quickly behind. Rinty gets there first and brings down one of the men.

Dr. Dingle is grateful to the soldier for rescuing him and his daughter Daisy. Dr. Dingle says he never saw the men before, but it's clear he's lying. The men are going to wait for Dingle, he can't stay inside the fort forever. Rusty meets Daisy who claims to be the woman's greatest trick shot shooter. Daisy wants to know if Rusty has a girl. No. No. and No. Besides, Rusty has to go and feed the horses right now.

Dr. Dingle is putting on a show with his trained monkey. Then Daisy puts on an exhibition of shooting. Rusty makes a foolish bet with Daisy, but her dad tells her it's better if she loses. We also learn Dr. Dingle owes Thorne, who is waiting outside, a $1,000. The horse race between Rusty and Daisy takes off but Daisy loses control of her horse and fails to return. Boone and Rip go out looking for her. There is no trace of Daisy, but her horse comes back with a note. Thorne wants his pearls, which he stole, but he put them in a bottle of Dr. Dingle's "medicine" and they disappeared. Most likely they dissolved.

Dingle tells Rip to remain in the fort, he will turn himself over to Thorne. Rusty figures he and Rinty can hide in the wagon. Rinty takes Thorne down and Rusty gets the drop on the second man. Daisy shots a gun out of the third man's hand after the monkey brings her a pistol.

Rip will turn Thorne and his men over to the sheriff. As for Dr. Dingle, his medicine is mostly vinegar, and pearls do dissolve in vinegar.
