After the settlement, Jordan Chandler filed for Emancipation from his parents. As of April 11, 2005, his mother June testified that she had not spoken to him in 11 years.
In November 2009, five months after Jackson's death, Evan Chandler ( Jordan Chandlers father) was found dead from suicide by gunshot at his luxury apartment in Jersey City, New Jersey, after several years of depression and estrangement from his family."
On August 5, 2005, Jordan Chandler filed a restraining order against his father, FB-09-524-06B. "The judge found that plaintiff had proved that he and his father, the defendant, were members of the same household when defendant struck him on the head from behind with a twelve and one-half pound weight and then sprayed his eyes with mace or pepper spray and tried to choke him."
On May 7, 1996, Evan Chandler sued Michael Jackson again for breach of the settlement agreement. Evan wanted $60 million, and because of the need to repair the reputation of the Plaintiff, Plaintiff seeks the equitable remedy of an order to allow him to publish and cause to be distributed to the public for sale a certain musical composition entitled EVANstory. The court ruled in Michael's favor in 2000.
Evan Chandler sued Michael again on May 26, 1998. He sued for breach of the settlement agreement. The court ruled in Michael's favor in 2000.
