This is the first episode of The Directors that I've watched, and in fact I watched it today, and it focuses on Australian director Phillip Noyce. What makes this episode absorbing is the commentary from film experts Stephen Armstrong, Ian Nathan and Neil Norman, all British. Their insights are most impressive and really we learn much about Phillip Noyce and his trio of movies about colonialism, particularly Rabbit-Proof Fence which was groundbreaking for sure.

I look forward to seeing more episodes from The Directors and I'd like to see ones about actors-directors and how they manage dual roles.
