Lucy and Viv volunteer to help Mooney when he goes into local politics. What could go wrong?
Well, Lucy bungles a billboard sign (where Mooney weirdly ends up looking like Adolf Hitler) then forgets to book the entertainment --- a Scottish bagpipe band. It ends with Lucy and Viv in disguise as Scotsmen until the real band arrives just in time to save the day , as everyone does a Highland Fling before the fade-out. Well, everyone but Lucy Carmichael, who is seen doing a jitterbug instead. What a ham!
Another so-so episode from Season 2. The jokes aren't that great and the billboard scene on the scaffolding suffers because Lucy just comes across as stupid. The best scene is when she tries to sweet-talk J. Pat O'Malley's character to perform at the rally by faking her ancestry. This would have been the perfect time for the writers to throw in an in-joke. She gives her maiden name as McFarland --- she should have said McGillicuddy! Lastly, for an episode centered around Mooney's political aspirations, very little is seen of him here.
