This is one of my favorite episodes of the show, I really like the concept of having a robot monster becoming a spy to infiltrate which is something most super sentai shows haven't done. Though I'll admit it's a little strange this would be a new thing as Grim Lord and his Scuds are always in disguise in the reality realm, so why are they unable to disguise anymore of their robot monsters.
Oh well it's a show, I just roll with it. The only bad things about the episode is how Caitlin gives her trust too quickly toward Jeremy despite the fact she hardly knows him, though her character can be a little on the too trusting side sometimes and it's part of the morality of the story so I can let that slide. Another is I feel some of Jeremy's tells were a little too obvious, I know he's supposed to be a virtual being but even they were cued in on what's going on in the reality realm to conceal themselves better.
I like how it goes when we see Jeremy at first, he seems like he could be an alright guy but Ryan and J.B. of course know better as they see there are some things about this guy that don't compute.
From doing a calculation which is literally impossible by human standards but also the Martial Arts and doesn't reveal his style or where he trained. He just gives a passive response that he just picked it up, really like how both J.B. and Ryan reacted to that response; I'm a martial artist myself I know there is no such thing as just picking it up and having no training.
This is of course the morality of this episode is don't give your trust to just anybody, make sure you know them enough first, because you never know whether that person really is a friend at all.
The truth is found out but too late as we see the sneaky virtual spy Jeremy makes his move. Really like the design of the virtual monster, with the black and gray coloring and his head, and his weaponized features which are concealed in different places which fits his deceptive nature.
The highlight of the episode no doubt is the one on one battle between both Jeremy and Ryan. Really liked seeing Jeremy use a bag of trick on Ryan, making the fight tricky where Ryan not just had to use his fists but strategy to counterattack. From the use of long-range arrows and Ryan must avoid them and find a way to close the distance. Ryan using the VR turbo cycle and Jeremy using another of his weapons. Will Ryan be able to blast though Jeremy's deception you'll just have to wait and see.
3 and a half stars
