As soon as it was announced America Ferrera would be leaving the show, we knew what that meant for Jonah and Amy, but it was still painful to watch. I thought the episode was a nice send off for Amy, befitting her character, who has always been a lovable character with hard edges. Despite the breakup being forced by Ferrera's exit, I think it made perfect sense for the storyline, given her past and the fact that Jonah has always loved her more than she loved him. I'm interested to see where Jonah goes from her since, though I love the show and his character, he has always been a bit two dimensional, with his existence revolving around Amy. I do worry the writers won't address his grief over, not only losing Amy, but also Parker, since, as he pointed out, he has been raising him with her his whole life. Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing what Amy's departure will mean for the show and feeling cautiously optimistic.

This is retail

As someone who has worked retail most of my adult life. That is really how we say bye to someone, without the fireworks lol. Life really moves on that quickly. I loved it, and it was the perfect way to break up Jonah and Amy

Okay, so Superstore is on general an average show for me. Watch an episode while eating if I remember the show enjoy the 20 minutes and move on. It's not bad and it's not the greatest sitcom ever made. This was my opinion of the show before this episode. Break up was foreshadowed but nonetheless I got watery eyes and I just want to know how it ended so I ended up binging rest of the season. I don't why or how it affected me so much but it did. This episode was great. Series Finale even better!

NO SPOILERS!
Yes, its sad but it is also real. Superstore managed to fuse comedy with some real backstory and character development. Def a bittersweet episode. Leaves you mad, sad but (even if i hate to admit it), it makes sense. Its a beautifully writtten episode that portrays real emotion.
SPOILERS: Jonah was leaving everything behind with no plan for the future just to go with Amy, and Amy felt like she was pushing him into that decision. Its not that she doesnt love him, its that she doesnt want jonah to follow her blindy. She feels the pressure to make it work cause jonah would have nothing else left but her in California. I know where she is coming from. But Jonah, of course, feels bad when she tells him she doesnt know if she wants to marry him. So he decides to walk away until she is sure enough, knowing that might never happen. This is storytelling and "feeling-telling" at its finest.
The respect they both have for each ther. The smile at the end. She saying that she will miss him but that going alone doesnt feel completely wrong. It might cut too deeep for a sitcom but i did enjoy this epsode and how it was written and their emotions portrayed even if i was deeply rooting for them.
With that ending, i wouldnt be surprised to lenr their story isnt over...

I loved Amy in the beginning but she became such an annoying character after season 5. Yeah we get it you're working with corporate now... You don't care about the Cloud 9 family. I can't wait for the next episodes.
Ps: Jonah was also annoying but he deserves better than Amy.

Warning: Spoilers
When Ron Howard left Happy Days, it was inevitable that his on-screen wife, Lori Beth (played by Lynda Goodfriend) would leave at the same time. But here when America Ferrera decided to leave, it was no automatic that her on-screen boyfriend Jonah would do the same. So here we see the end (temporary or not I'm not sure) of the Amy-Jonah on-screen relationship but who knows, maybe they will return at the end of series. It was quite poignant seeing Amy (and in turn America) being farewelled at the end, especially with the fireworks to add more poignancy and emotion, and seeing Amy and Jonah toast each other.
I'm sure this is not the last thing we know from Amy

For me this has been a brilliant episode because shows that all relationships has problems, that gives more realism to the series. Also, I'm sure that this is not the last time we hear from Amy. I expect that she will realize the mistake she made and will return to the store.
Disappointing

A pet peeve of mine on TV shows...

Why write a pregnancy and baby into a show to then barely mention them after that storyline ends?
This episode focuses on Amy leaving for California and how that impacts her feelings toward her relationship with Jonah. While I see that would be important and obviously matters for the show, in real life the way bigger things would be her moving her children away from their father suddenly. What is her childcare plan? How does her teenage daughter feel about leaving friends? How does Adam feel? I realize this is nitpicky but as a parent it bothers me.
This episode was okay.but it also really shows the lack of spark between Amy and Jonah. They just didn't have the sort of chemistry that makes me emotionally invest in their relationship like other shows.

Warning: Spoilers
After my last semester ended, I decided to take on Superstore. After watching the show go through 5 seasons, I saw Amy and Jonah fall in love, fall out of love, fight, have $3%, and plan an entire life together in California. All of this, and in the matter of one episode, everything came to something entirely unbelievable. There's absolutely no way that the storyline ever would make Amy do something this stupid. It's irritating to watch as a viewer and knowing the show is cancelled after this season has given me less hope for what is to come. Hopefully, Amy & Jonah get the writing they deserve.
Thank goodness she's gone

Amy is so cringey
interestingstuff20 October 2022
Amy is not only the most annoying character in this TV show but she might be one of the most annoying TV characters of all times across all shows ever made. Everything about her is so cringey and there is no sane company in the world that would promote someone as awkward as her to as a store manager or director or even a floor manager.
This is another episode ruined by her unbearable personality, extreme awkwardness and weirdness. She can't even form one sentence without being, sounding and looking extremely annoying and it's funny she can get promotion after promotion, getting promoted from a floor worker to a corporate director in 2 promotions which was absolute nonsense even for a comedy show.

I've loved this show for a bit over a year now. I started watching right when season 4 was wrapping up. This season has felt incredibly rushed so far, and the decisions the writers made in this episode seemed to be just whatever was easiest. I did not enjoy this episode.
writers aren't seeing heaven for this

Amy's last day is here and she assigns everyone their tasks. The employees video tape together for her goodbye party. Everyone starts wearing masks at some point and it gets harder to read their faces. Amy is overwhelmed with committing to Jonah and Jonah takes offence. He will not go to Cali with her. At the end the employees have their party out in the parking lot with fireworks lighting up the night sky.
