It's like a family

This is the longest featurette on the Resident Evil: Apocalypse Resurrected Edition DVD, with a running time of 28 minutes(or 27 sans credits). It consists of behind-the-scenes footage(a little of it isn't well-shot), interviews and clips of the film. This is to an extent a making of on the picture, but the title of this is a dead giveaway... its main purpose is a production diary(among other things, we sit in on a script reading with the cast; also, seeing Nemesis just... sit there, between takes, is absolutely unreal), and it doesn't touch upon writing it(and thus, Paul W. S. Anderson makes no appearance in this) nor any aspect of post(scoring, editing, PR, etc.). It explains what tools they used, what for and why a bit, and other than that, we just get a nice sense of what it was like to work on it. We find out how this or that person was to work with(and yes, there is occasional love-fest going on), and this is very good about telling you who we're listening to and what we're looking at(note that this documentary spoils the movie). Could Milla possibly be cuter? I doubt my crush on her will ever end. Did Sienna subtly voice a little of her dislike of their handling of the character she portrayed? There are some genuinely funny moments in this. They did zombie make-up in this movie? Then why the stupid flash-skipping in the scenes involving them? This is quite informative on what it does cover, and it keeps to a solid pace, wasting no time and not rushing along either. There is blood and disturbing content in this. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the background of the flick. 7/10
