An Amazing Episode With One Huge Flaw
carologletree7 June 2017
"Operation T.R.E.A.T.Y." is the last episode of "Kids Next Door" before the grand finale, "Operation I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S." This episode had so much going for it and it could have been possibly a top 5 KND episode, but one thing came along and ruined it.

The Teen Ninjas have proposed that they and the KND have a truce. Numbuh 1 suspects that Numbuh Infinity is part of the "Splinter Cell" and that him and former KND operative Chad Dickson are up to something. Nigel is accused of treason and is handcuffed to Chad to be sent to the KND Arctic Prison. Numbuh 1 must try to learn what is really going on.

This episode sure was epic. The storyline is exciting and very interesting and the interactions between Numbuh 1 and Chad as they are forced to cooperate were filled with genuine tension.

The end battle between the KND and the teens on the giant platform is one heck of an epic fight. We also get the first and only appearances of Numbuh Infinity and The Steve.

However, there is one thing that kept this episode from being perfect, and it's a big thing: the reveal that Chad was helping the Kids Next Door all along. It just didn't come off well at all, in my opinion. Seeing the way he was presented in previous episodes where he was a villain, it's pretty obvious that he was originally meant to be a bad guy, but then they decided to retroactively change his motives. It might sound like I'm being close-minded, but I just don't think it worked.

This was a great episode, but it could have been one of the best. I'm having a hard time accepting the big plot twist as canon. That was really the only thing holding this episode back.
